  • Dinner at MB Steak at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

Brothers David Morton and Michael Morton have come together to create MB Steak, a luxury steakhouse at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

MB Steak represents the next generation in a long legacy of restaurateurs, which includes their father, legendary restaurateur Arnie Morton, their grandfather Morton C. Morton, and Hymie, their great-grandfather.MB stands for “My Brothers.” MB Steak pairs the old-school steakhouse standard with a rich, comfortable vibe. The menu of expertly-sourced steaks, seafood and shellfish is complemented by creative chef-driven preparations. MB Steak’s diverse wine list is curated with intention, and is accompanied by an extensive selection of premium spirits and craft cocktails, served across a leather bar. The 7,800-square-foot restaurant reveals itself gradually through its tunnel entryway opening onto the first floor bar and dining room, and a lit staircase leading to the garden bar and lounge. The private dining room and private bar room offer intimate dining alternatives. Designed in collaboration with Karen Herold of Studio K Creative, MB Steak is sexy, luxurious and supremely comfortable.

Signature steaks include a 16-ounce bone-in filet, a dry-aged bone-in New York strip, braised and pepper-crusted bone-in beef shortrib and a 32-ounce double porterhouse sliced for two. Wagyu beef from the U.S., Australia and Japan is also available for those looking for the utmost experience, complemented by classic steakhouse sides like creamed spinach with truffle gouda and poached egg and grilled asparagus with crispy garlic.

Other eye-catching appetizers and entrées on MB Steak’s opening menu—created by executive chef Patrick Munster—include charred Spanish octopus, surf and turf tartare, fennel-crusted salmon and the namesake burger, topped with hand-cut applewood smoked bacon and butterkase cheese.

The Executive Chef is Patrick Munster, who was chef de cuisine at SW Steakhouse at Wynn Las Vegas for 10 years

“There’s no question of the imprint my father made on his children,” said Michael of his father Arnie Morton, who debuted Morton’s of Chicago in 1978. The Morton family has since collectively spurred more than 100 chain and independent restaurants throughout the U.S.

“We grew up with such admiration for him for the superior quality of his restaurants and clubs; he was meticulous. David and I spend so much time trading stories about our own venues, it just makes sense to put family tradition and our own experience into a joint project.”

David and Michael have more than two-dozen restaurants and bars to their credit, but MB Steak marks the first time that any of the siblings have partnered on a project.

“We can’t aim for anything less than to deliver the best; to redefine the steakhouse as our father did with Morton’s,” David says.

Dorene and I enjoyed a superb dinner at MB Steak in the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. The atmosphere was inviting with very unique, burned looking wood decorating the walls and soft music playing. Our server Oscar was excellent and helped make the experience very special.

Upon being seated, Michael Morton came over to our table to personally welcome us to the restaurant. Joining Michael in welcoming us was General Manager Rafael Ramirez whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Crush at MGM Grand, another Morton Group restaurant.

First to arrive at our tablw was what I would call, "Las Vegas' Best Bread "Bowl"

    Appetizers were:

CLASSIC ONION SOUP: Topped ith a mountain of Gruyere cheese and loaded with sweet onions, this was one of the best Onion soups I have ever had.

We also ordered HEIRLOOM TOMATO & BURRATA salad: Aged balsamic, arugula pesto, spiced almonds. Everything was fresh, the portion was enough for
    four people to share.

For main courses, we both ordered steak. Dorene ordered 6 oz. Filet Mignon.

    I ordered BONE-IN FILET MIGNON - 16 oz

Both steaks were cooked perfectly. They were tender, tasty and seasoned perfectly.

As usual, we sharred two sides. SHOESTRING POTATOES with house made ketchup & GRILLED ASPARAGUS - crispy garlic, olive oil.

Both sides we amazing! Loved both of them.

    Dessert Time!

We knew there was no point in telling Oscar we had no room for dessert, so we told him just bring us your favorite,

As it turned out, his favorite is now our favorite. TRIPLE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLE CAKE - chocolate fudge sauce, fresh raspberries.

This was so decadent that every spoonful was better than the spoonful before.

This was a wonderful dinner experience from start to finish. Not one flaw.

I was expecting the restaurant to be very loud but it was quite subdued. the music, which of course was rock music was not overly loud.

The owners are two down to earth gentlemen who have made their mark in in new, innovative restaurants.

With MB Steak, they hit the bullseye!

On the way out I was introduced to David Morton who was at the bar with Michael. It ws a pleasure to meet both of them.

Before we left, Rafael took us on a tour of the second floor eatery and Garden lounge.

The Garden Lounge just introduced 'The Magic Hour' Every Sunday Night.

Starting at 11 p.m., the Garden Lounge transforms into a post-show party with DJs, dancing and drinks, alongside the company of some of Las Vegas’ hottest performers. The spacious second-story lounge offers a full bar, including Champagne by the glass selections and signature cocktails such as the Mojito Royale, made with four-year Flor de Cana rum, champagne, fresh mint and lime; and the Spicy Cucumber Margarita, made with habanero and jalapeno-infused Milagro Silver Tequila, cucumber and fresh lime and mint.
