  • Dinner: Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar at Red Rock Casino - July 8th

Created by Chef Brian Massie, Hearthstone Kitchen & Cellar offers guests pure, carefully crafted house-made fare from the highest quality sourced ingredients. At the heart of Hearthstone’s comfortable, eclectic interiors stand two rustic wood-burning ovens where savory, authentic dishes are freshly roasted every day. Chef Massie’s menu reflects a simple and pure approach to refined cuisine that honors and respects food. Enjoy artisanal salads, shared plates, charcuterie selections and signature entrees made from scratch, while also indulging in wine from Hearthstone’s impressive wine list.

Hearthstone's menu is designed using fresh and seasonal ingredients showcasing Rustic American dishes destined to be favorites among the locals and visitors alike. The restaurant's exhibition style wood-burning oven maximizes the flavors of Chef Massie's creations while igniting a full sensory experience. Whether visiting Hearthstone as an evening dining destination or for a bottle of wine with friends in the private enoteca, Hearthstone's offerings are thoughtfully fashioned with something for everyone.

Hearthstone's food concepts are crafted with sharing in mind, allowing everyone at the table to experience the natural-ingredient driven menu. Hearthstone offers a consistently changing menu of seasonal dishes with produce sourced from organic farmers and purveyors who practice sustainable agriculture. Executive Chef and Partner Brian Massie, known for his successful menus at FIX Restaurant & Bar at Bellagio, STACK Restaurant & Bar at The Mirage, Diablo's Cantina, Citizens Kitchen and Bar & Red Square at Mandalay Bay shares his vision of seasonality, simplicity, and quality to Hearthstone, resulting in a great neighborhood dining experience.

"I'm excited to introduce a great Rustic American concept with a consistently evolving menu. I'm working hand in hand with organic farmers, ranchers, and fisherman who practice sustainable agriculture and share my passion for the craft," says Brian Massie, Executive Chef and Partner.

Whether looking to dine on the expansive outdoor patio, at the counter in front of the wood-burning oven, or at the chef's table in the private enoteca, Hearthstone offers every guest an oasis from the norm. A mixture of reclaimed wood, brick and raw materials fuse with a bohemian flare to create an eclectic vibe in the indoor and outdoor eatery.

This was an 8:30 pm dinner as we had a 4 pm dinner buffet at Gold Coast.

Our plans were to go there eat sensibly but those plans went right out the window!

This was our second visit to Hearthstone. An invitation to revisit was sent to me when a change was made in Executive Chefs. Chef Adam was now at the helm of Hearthstone. The

As with Sister restaurant, Salute, you can enter Hearthstone from the front or from the casino entrance.

    Casino entrance.

We were escorted to a cozy booth close to the outside front of the restaurant and close to live one-man musical entertainer. A little too close for my liking.
I must be getting old as music at dinner is a distraction for me. It makes it impossible to talk to people at your table and impossible to hear your server or the chef. I could not hear half the things they were explaining to me.

These are the actual booths we were seated in.

We we treated to the most awesome server in Las Vegas. His name was Jeff and he took service to another level! He was upbeat, informative and had an over-the-top personality.

We also met manager Sarah for the second time. Very nice, always making sure we were having a good time. She persueded us into too much food.

As I said, we were planning to eat sensibly but I think Chef Adam, Jeffand Sarah had conspired to make sure we tried as many items as possible.

When you hear, "The chef will be sending out a FEW samples" you know your in trouble!

In all, NINE menu items were sent out. We were told we were not expected to eat everything, but just to "try them" RIGHT!

    Here is the lineup.

DOC Pizza: mozzarella, basil and chilli flakes. ($18) We had this pizza on our first visit. It even better the second time.

Next: Lollipop Wings. Just a bit too spicy for me but flavor was very good.

Next: Heirloom Watermelon Salad with feta cheese, shaved red onion, hazlenuts & sumac.($14)

Next: quinoa salad with broccoli, greens, apple and and apple vinaigrette. ($13)

Next: Roasted heirloom peach ; beet ($14) - pistachios, honey goat cheese, lemon thyme. I gave the beets a try but did not like them. The other ingredients
    absorbed the beet flavor.

    Next: Adult Grilled Cheese ($14)

We also tried French dip and Pork shoulder. I do not have any picturess becuase mt camera batter died.

The French Dip was very good but neither of us liked the Pork shoulder.

Serious decadence, in a fun and relaxed setting. Our waiter was fabulous, the food super and the ambiance fun! I would definitely go back a third time. HOURS
