Default Upcoming Trip...Something Different

I have a trip to Vegas coming up June 4-9. Since HET (if that's what you still call them) have tightened up on their comps, ruined VP and Blackjack, I've become a bit dis-satisfied with them after being loyal to them for so many years.

So, this trip I've already booked my rooms, and will not stay or play at any Harrahs property. I'll stay the first three nights at Golden Nugget. This will be my first time staying downtown. It will certainly be a change from the strip. We'll only have to wait and see how we like it.

After that we're moving over to Wynn for the last 2 nights of the trip. We've stayed at both Wynn and Encore, so we already know we'll like it.

I'm 316 tier points away from renewing Platinum at HET for next year, but have decided to wait until the next trip to make those points, as I don't want to wreck my ADT.

The best part of this upcoming trip is the fact that I feel no pressure to ADT and Harrahs.

Kurt,

we too had hoped to move away from HET this year, as we dont seem to patronize much of their gaming or eateries any longer, however, Dad got an offer we could not turn down this trip..$67 for 4 nites, which for us, saving up front is more a factor for our trip plans than anything...we were actually suprised by the offer (47,20, comp-comp, sat-wed) considering we spent most of our time at Venetian and GN last year..

btw, we will be out June 6-10th, and so will "gdunn", would you be interested in a mini-meet?

we will for sure be DT the first nite, saturday, as dad wants to see bill haley's comets play on freemont...

Golden Nugget is a nice place to stay, don't expect much on comps. If you play slots, there are 2 double dollar 5 dollar machines far right hand side facing the bar that i have had a lot of luck on in the past.

We can try for a brief Saturday meet. However, I am meeting with a large group from a usenet group. We have planned what we call "The Lost Weekend". Our itinerary includes a poker tournament, a shrimp eating contest, Karaoke contest, and a dinner in a pre-reserved room at MSS. Most of the festivities take place on Saturday, so it'll be tight.

I'll private message you on this forum with my cell phone number. As the time approaches, we can talk more about it.

Here's a website about our Lost Weekend.

"The Lost Weekend" sounds like Matt and the late Stinky's Vegas Bash.

I haven't checked AVLV in years. It was turning into a pissing contest between Chuck and David. Then it seemed to be taken over by spam.

That's why this place is one of a kind!

Matt decided not to host the annual Soiree this year, but those of us who enjoyed it decided to keep some resemblance of it going. Chuck hasn't posted on AVLV in awhile. Either has Berman. The only spam we're getting now is political cross posting, and an occasional outburst from Payton and Big Mikey.

Check it out again. You may be one of the people mentioned in a thread a couple of weeks ago wondering where all the old timers from the group went.
