Default Transportation from downtown to strip

I know this is probably a dumb question, but is it safe to take a bus from downtown to the strip? I know a cab ride costs about $20 one way. If it is safe, do any of you know where you pick it up and the number of the bus. Also, how often do they run and is it safe like at 1am?

Thanks for the help.

Have seen some very interesting people riding the bus, but never encountered any problems. Not sure if I'd want to take it at 3am, but have ridden it mornings, afternoons and early evenings

Not a dumb question at all. Id say it's safe. Ive taken it in the wee hours of the morning when the sun was coming up and it seemed to be people going to work.

I've never had a problem riding the bus but be prepared for it to take you a while. Hopefully it won't be too busy in the wee small hours of the morning but I've seen it taking an hour for a 10 minute journey. I take taxis now, it's much quicker.

There are stops all the way up and down the Strip and the downtown stop is at the end of the canopy (not the Plaza end, the other end).

Good point. I forgot to add make sure you're not in a hurry.

I've always felt safe, tho have never ridden it quite that late. You pick it up at the intersection of Fremont and the Strip. The stop is right across the street from the El Cortez. I usually stand right around the main intersection until I see the bus coming....I feel a little more visible to any security on Fremont St.
If you are nervous about the bus itself, sit in the main area near the driver. I usually meet friendly people, and get/give info while riding.

We've taken the bus from the strip to downtown and back many times. Never felt unsafe. Bus stop downtown is on the street right past the canopy, the side street. Can't remember what it is called. Does take awhile, but I enjoy it, watching people and looking at everything going down the strip. I take it with my daughters and sister-in-law, no men and still we don't feel unsafe. Of course, there are four of us, so we could gang up on someone if we had to. (LOL)

And this is the Deuce also? That transportation website makes that double decker bus look pretty good.

Yes, this is the Deuce. The Deuce replaced the CAT on the Strip although you can still get the CAT to other places, i.e. Henderson, etc.
