Default How are Flamingo rooms

What's the real scoop on the Flamingo? Several posters have indicated that they really like it. How large are the rooms? What are the bathrooms like? Are they well maintained, etc. How's the pool area? Am thinking of staying there this summer, but not sure. What are the chances of getting an upgrade if checking in at 11:30 pm at the airport on a Wednesday night?

good clean basic rooms that were dated but clean. Stayed 3 differant times. One of the best bang for the bucks. Used the airport check in and recieved a great room facing the strip but the rooms facing the pool area have a great view to.

I firmly believe that Flamingo is one of the best deals around. There's plenty of room to move around in the room. Bathroom is a good size. Everything is clean. I've stayed there twice in the past year (and I'm already booked again for September) and, both times, I got a recently renovated room overlooking the bird area. It's better than looking at the spotlights on the casino roof at the MGM. You can't beat the price and location.

Flamingo is a great place to stay. Ideal location.
Stayed there 7 times (work!) last year
The rooms over looking the garden are good size. Much better than looking at the strip.
Bathrooms are good with size bath and shower.
Maid service was good and very helpful if you wanted anything
Pool is very good, with large sun areas and the water slides very popular, but it does get a little crowded at the weekend.
The casino is very big and has lots of different slots, good table games area in the middle of the casino.
Only problem i ever found is the lifts! There are a large bank in the casino and anyone can get into them, and they are very slow and get very crowded.
But you really cannot beat the place for location / price / casino / pool.

While I agree that the hotel is an excellent location, and the rooms are well appointed, the bathrooms are some of the smallest I have ever had. They are functional, and that is about it.You certainly cannot fit more than one person in there at a time.
The pool area is magnificient. If you do not have a room key, you will not be given access. Just wish they would apply this to elevator access after 9 PM.

But, I also find that there room rates have increased lately, making it worthwhile to check out other hotels (i.e. Bally's).

Enjoy.

I have been staying at the Flamingo for the last nine years. I give it a 6-7. Its a little out dated but the rooms are descent sized, clean everytime I have been there, and quiet.<----important The pool gets about an 8. My wife and I dont have any complaints about the Flamingo and will continue to stay there. My bro-in-law isn't a big fan ... but to each there own. Works for me ....

Default Thanks

Good info.

Two things concern me -
Small bathrooms - I assume there is no separate shower.
Security - anyone can get up to your floor without a key? But then, that's the way it is at the Paris, too. So that may not be a problem as long you keep your door locked.

You are giving me good info. Keep it coming.

Default Flamingo rooms

My wife and I have stayed four times at the Flamingo over the last three years. GREAT location. We always get rooms near the main casino elevators so we can get easy access to the Strip and casino. Our last room (3/19- 3/25/06), 20057, overlooked the pool area. Large room, deep blue carpet, two green ( did not really match the rest of the colors) wingbacks, sofa, coffee table and desk all in the room for plenty of sitting options. Good sized closet, had extra pillows on the shelf, with mirrored doors. Bed was firm and comfy. Bathroom is small but well appointed. Excellent water pressure. Maid service was prompt and we always got plenty of towels. And best of all we could be on the Strip in a couple of minutes ! A great place to stay, esp if you can get a decent rate.

Flamingo holds fond memories since that was my first Vegas hotel. I did think that my single was on the small side but that was the only bad thing about it.
PS That was early 1990's
