The original Hussong's is down in Ensenada, Mexico. It's quite the party place. The band that walks around--they're called Mariachis. Many of the Mexican restaurants in San Diego have them as well.

Hussong's participates in restaurant.com, but the minimum purchase requirement is $50.

Lori these guys were a hoot! They were playing Mexican music before bursting out with YMCA and Lady GaGa! They had the whole place in an uproar! We used the $25 off restaurant.com voucher from the Slot Tournament. I would highly recommend this place, I'd definitely go back.

Kathy.. getting back to your question... if you want a pretty solid order of nachos, you can always hit Roberto's Taco Shop. There's several of them in town. They've got carne asada, and chicken. Hefty order for like $7. You wont find margaritas... but, they'll do the trick if you wanna get filled up for cheap. The burritos are good also.

Not a restaurant... they do a lot of takeout -- most of them have seating, etc. Walk up to a counter - order - pay - sit down - wait for your #.

In San Diego, we call them taco shops. They serve much more than tacos but it's the same idea---limited indoor seating, wait for your order to come up, etc. A restuarant, such as T&T and Diablo's, usually serves margaritas.

I do not know where you are from but we beleive here in New Mexico that we serve authentic mexican food.( Our state motto is red or green? and the state food is chile. So, having said that tghere is a Gardunos in the Palms that is pretty authentic and they make about 100 different margaritas as well.
Gardunos originated in Albuquerque and then moved out to LV and on to Los Angeles. It's pretty darn good.
