Michael's Barbary Coast
We ate at Michael's for the first time this past Friday. I was told it was expensive, and it certainly was! However, the service was impeccable! The ambiance very elegant and romantic. They start you off with a platter of olives, quail eggs, exotic peppers, etc., with a cream cheese spread for the pumpernickle toast points. Very good. Our appetizers were stone claw crabs and crab cake. The crab cake was huge and so fresh and tasty. My husband got 6 crab claws. We were already getting full before our dinner came...which was amazing! I ordered shrimp scampi. Eight huge tender/fresh shrimp in a buttery garlic sauce with fresh string beans...was so delicious! My husband ordered the filet mignon with creamed spinach! Yes, you could cut it with a fork, it was that tender. Melted in your mouth. We couldn't eat dessert. I was very sad about this because the dessert table was calling my name...LOL! If you don't order dessert, they bring you a basket of fresh fruit and a platter of cut up fruit dipped in chocolate! Yummy! I did have one of them, but alas...I was sooo full! I highly recommend eating here. If I were to give this restaurant a rating, (1-5)..I'd give it a 5! I will return to Michael's again next year, but I'll forfeit the appetizers so I can have dessert!
