I went over to the GN tonite & took in the show with my friend Mike. It had been over a year since i've seen Gordie. He was at the V Theater back then... and did not have a backup band. He was funny then.

He still is funny Good show, plenty of laughs - and a good mix of current events & people in the news. The band consists of (if memory serves from 3 hrs ago, lol) piano, drums, guitar (two of them), and keyboards. Not bad. The stage lighting is pretty good. In addition there's a lit backdrop behind the stage that's sort of a novelty of 'colour' for certain songs.

Until tonite, i've never been to a show at the GN. I really like this showroom... it's (very) gradually 'tiered'... and it probably only holds 250-300 persons. The seats are comfy & leg room is ample for certain. Tonite's show was alllllllmost sold out.

Mikey and i were pretty lucky - we had 3rd row - just a bit off center.

O'Bama, politics, sex, the oldies, the newbie music/artists... they're all mixed into the show with Gordie's voice & humor/antics (of course) mixed in.

He's not as polished (back then, nor today) as Danny Gans (is or was) with many lyrics... but, Brown is still pretty good. He still does a hilarious G. W. Bush.

The show was non-stop. No opening act. It went 80 minutes. Gordie got a standing ovation. Kenny Rogers was in the audience tonite. Nope juuust kidding, but there was a guy in the front row that resembled him -- so, some jabs were taken & what not.

The seats we had were $79/seat normally - but, comped.
