    Default Planet Hollywood

Working on booking a trip for August. I was interested in Planet Hollywood.
Has anyone stayed there lately and is there a noise factor from the construction.

Although i havent stayed there (ever)... the sidewalks & such are free fro the most part from construction, dust, and those hassles.

I have never stayed there either but I have read that there was some construction going on behind Planet Hollywood at the Polo Towers complex - I am not sure if it is still going on, or has been halted because of the economy, but you may want to check out www.tripadvisor.com and look up "Planet Hollywood Vegas" to see what recent guests have to say about it. If construction is still going on at Polo Towers you may want to request a room that does not directly face that area....

Until the poster you're looking for chimes in with some
currant info, this would be my guess...
The construction sets far enough in back of Planet Ho
such that if your room was on the Strip side, all you'd
hear would be the traffic, sirens and horn honking.

LOL - that is why I always travel with those foam ear plugs - because even if there is no construction noise or outside traffic noise, there is sometimes noise in the hallways at any hotel - people loud, slamming doors at all hours of the night - it can happen anywhere. Get the ones that block the highest level of decibels (I get the blue ones made by a company called Hear-os) and you will sleep through the night like a baby.

I didnt see any horrible reviews on Trip Advisor. Price seems a little high for a mid week in August but its my 50th birthday and wanted to do something different.

We stayed there last August and loved the place. We were on the 36 floor facing the strip though. I did hear a little bit of noise from City Center but not enough to worry about.

I stayed there two months ago. Our room overlooked City Center. We did not hear any city center noise. In all fairness, we did not get into the room until after 9pm and we left about 8am the next morning. There was some noise, like a thumping, that may have been from a showroom or the nightclub. It didn't last all night. We were in the South Tower, room 2615. I am told that any room in the south tower ending in 17 shares a wall with the elevators and is extremely noisy. On the plus side, the beds are very comfortable, down blankets, plenty of down pillows. Bathroom is a nice size with good amenities, although our room did not seem to have a hairdryer. IMHO, room furniture is not scaled correctly and feels a little crowded. Would I stay there again? Yes. Absolutely.

I recommend a meal at Ocean One in the Miracle Mile. Get a coupon on Restaurant.com.

    Have fun and good luck!

    Default August

    Bill

I am receiving emails daily from Vegas hotels and many of the offers are now extending to the end of August or through the end of the year.

You should be able to pick up some good deals as they are really hurting and there are no signs that the economy is going to turn around in 2009 so I would expect that they will need to give a lot of incentives in 2009 to attract visitors as will everywhere else.

We just came back from nine days and eight nights in Nassau and they comped us RFB as we only paid the tips.

    Good luck

I turn 50 in August as well....

PH is one of my favorite places to stay in Vegas. In terms of noise, I've never encountered any from the condo build on the south side of their property. Heard some modest noise during the day once when I was in the South Tower overlooking City Center (but that was in the earlier days of construction when they were pile-driving). You could avoid the risk of either by asking for a North Tower room, front or back. (The front rooms are angled toward the fountains at Bellagio. Some rooms have a very nice view of them. Technically an upgrade, but often available if you ask or "tip.")
