 I'm so excited!!
We are headed to LV on Friday November 21st. The first night we drive to Overton, NV to run in the Valley of Fire 10k that is early saturday morning. There is also a 1/2 marathon and full marathon, but we are only running the 6.2 miles. I figure that is one of the best ways to sight see one of the most beautiful places on earth! And we get a t-shirt We stay in a Best Western that Friday night.
After the run, we will head south through the desert and eventually go to Hoover Dam. Neither one of us has seen that since we were children and it is on the way to Laughlin for our Saturday night stay. Somehow I got a comped room at Harrahs Laughlin for Saturday the 22nd. Never been there and am looking forward to the water taxi that I have read about. And maybe some decent gambling (and wins) before we head to Las Vegas.
Sunday the 23rd, leave Laughlin and drive to LV where we will stay for the next four nights at Ballys. Also a comp. Go figure--I have an incredibly low gold tier level, but a Total Rewards Visa...is that how I get the comp or is it just so slow in Vegas at that time of year??
Looking very forward to being put for a bit, doing the strip AND getting off strip this year. We have always liked Sams Town and want to watch Monday night football there (supposedly a good deal) and maybe some gambing wins. I would also like to see Red Rock Casino, go to the Palms and downtown. We went DT many years ago, like 10 years ago and were pretty disgusted. Lots of folks here talk good things about it, so I would like to visit again and maybe get some good gambling in.
Of course, eat at Margaritaville---LOVE that place. Also want to try that Mexican place someboby recommened in their trip report...the place in the Venetian, can't remember name right now, and have some of the sangria!!
As you can see, lots to do and I am sooo excited!!
