In the winter or cooler weather I wear a jacket with lots of pockets - velcroed or zippered.

In the warmer months I try to wear shorts or jeans with lots of pockets - again velcroed or zippered. If none available - a small shoulder bag that I keep tucked securedly under my arm.
Life ain't always beautiful, but it's a beautiful ride.

What stuff are we talking about? All I ever carry around with me is my wallet,a camera, and maybe some Chapstick. AND......usually a big smile on my face just because I'm in Vegas.

I carry a small backpack with the essentials in it - wallet, camera, sunglass case, blistex, any coupons I feel I might be using that day etc and I have a serious lock on the zipper pulls because of a near pickpocketing incident last year - once bitten, twice shy!

I try not to carry a bag and put my camera into my pocket. My mum however, carries one of these drawstring bags that go across your back. If anyone tries to open the bag the strings pull on your arms so there isn't a way of getting into it without you knowing about it.

you would be surprised - some of these pickpockets are serious professionals and I saw a Travel Channel special a while back that showed a guy targeting a group of tourists on the Vegas Strip to show them how easy it was to distract and rob them and completely robbing them BLIND while he was standing right in front of them talking to them. He even used slight of hand to slice open the bottom of a woman's fanny pack while engaging her in conversation and removing her ID, wallet and everything else in there, and she was completely clueless. Of course this was all set up by Travel Channel and he gave her a brand new fanny pack but everyone was shocked because they never believed it could happen to them. Of course if someone was to slice open my backpack then there is nothing you can do (hopefully you would feel the backpack suddenly getting lighter) but I now use one of my combination luggage locks and so far so good....I would even do that here in NYC where I live because Midtown Manhattan and the subway system is tourist pickpocket city!!! lol

I try to stuff everything in my front pockets. Only take a certain amount of cash and I leave credit card and atm card in the room safe.

That's why I put everything into my pockets. The only way of getting into my mum's bag would be to slice it across the bottom and I guess if they are going to do that they would do it to any kind of baggage and, like you say, there's nothing you can do! Luckily we have been going to Vegas for years now and so far so good (except one time when a thief tried to steal my mum's bag from under the table at the Frontier bingo where we were seated and she had her bag off her back). I saw a show on TV over here too with a magician on the Strip, although he was pick-pocketing tourists to show them how easy it was. I still say the best thing is to keep your money etc in your pockets and keep your hands in there too if possible!

If I don't have pockets, I put my driver's license and one or two credit cards into a metal business card case. Eveyrthing then goes into a wristlet. There's a strap around my wrist at all times. If I don't need both hands, I always hold it in my right hand. I try to wear cargo pants/capris with lots of pockets so I don't have to carry anything in plain view.

I wear a crossbody small purse/bag. money and cards and important stuff go into a hidden inside pocket, less important stuff in the front pocket. I also always put my hand on the back while I walk and if someone sliced open the bottom, the important stuff would still be in the little inside hidden pocket.

I also pay close attention to my surroundings, I figure thats the best I can do
