Thread: Hotel Rate Change For Booked Room

Default Hotel Rate Change For Booked Room

Ok now here is something I have not experienced until now.
I booked the IP for Thu Jan 10th-Tue Jan 15th, back in July and got the rates as follows:
    Thu 10th- $104
    Fri 11th- $114
    Sat 12th- $114
    Sun 13th- $66
    Mon 14th- $66
    total being $464 without taxes

Now I took a look at what the rates are now for the same time and they got a bit cheaper:

    Thu 10th- $104
    Fri 11th- $104
    Sat 12th- $123
    Sun 13th- $57
    Mon 14th- $57
    total being $445 without taxes.

So a $19us cheaper total. Can I call and tell them I want these new rates or do I have to cancel the previous booking, get a refund on my credit card for the first night, then rebook again on my credit card? Will they just change it for me? And is it worth it for $19us?
I think yes and no it is worth it. If it is a hassle that I have to cancel etc, then it is not worth the $19 cheaper amount, but if they will just change it, then sure.
    Thanks

Just call and tell them that you see the cheaper rate on their site and they'll change it. No muss, no fuss. Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.

Yes I would say just call them and ask for the new rates and they should just amend your reservation.

IP... Thanks to Steve you have a friend at the IP,,, the host Bob Cohn or Cohen... maybe an email or call to him would be helpful on the room rates.... mention Steves name everything lv.com ......There are a whole bunch of people on this site that Steve has sent Bob's way and they all seem happy. Look in the archives for some info about bob.
    but to answer your question.
Go ahead and call but keep track of the prices.
The prices go up and down all the time. It's like air fairs check them at 8:00 AM you get one thing and at 11:00 AM you get something else.

I have seen a guy at work call the hotel 5 times ( about every 3 days) to get the lower prices as they came down. He hotel has one thing on it's mind, sell all the rooms. If the rooms are not filling the price comes down as it get's closer to arrival date.

pick the some dates in November,
call it the 10th to the 15th keep track of the prices. See if the prices come down as you get closer to the 10th.

The problem is your hotel... relaxe nothing wrong with the hotel... it's just not that big, it has reasonable room rates and probably will sell out.

PS... Bob ,,, Steve,,, Everything LV

Now dealing with Bob Chen, I am not a gambler per say. So does this matter? Usually hosts handle gamblers if I am not mistaken.

It's only a problem if you call Bob Cohen - Bob Chen.

Unless Mr. Chen is different host.

I love when people say "I am not a gambler" or "I am a low roller" Sometimes they mean they're not betting thousands a day - sometimes they mean they play $20 a day - or $200 - or $500.

I am more in the $100 - $200 a day category (and my average is probably less) and Bob has been very helpful to me. I don't expect free stuff, but he is helpful in getting good room locations, the best possible rate at the time, and other easy stuff.

Call him, tell him you're a member here - and he will make sure you get the lower rate.

Even without talking to Bob, the IP would re book you
    to the lower rate.

I called and the guy who I talked to changed it for me and said if i find that the rate gets lower, feel free to call and get it changed no problem.
With the Canadian Dollar at par with the US Dollar, which I am sure it will hold steady around that for the next few months, is great for me. $445us is also $445 Canadian.

As for gambling, let's put it this way. There are days where i don't even gamble when I am there. I love the entertainment aspect of Vegas and the overall vibe of the city. For me personally, I can't sit in front of a slot machine for hours pushing buttons. Does nothing for me, I'll play here and there but never for long periods of time. I get bored quickly.
Never been a card player, so that is out. I may play roullette is all. Overall, attractions, people watching and eating in the day, hitting a show or two at night then head to a bar for drinks...throw in eating somewhere in there too.
Although January is the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo that I attened, so two full days are taken up. And walking around for 6 hours each day, my feet and back are killing me by the end of it each day. So this trip, 2 days at the Expo, a full day to do whatever and half a day to do whatever. Hit a show each night Thu-Sun nights.
    I love walking The Strip.

    Smile Bob Cohen great

We booked our Jan. 6 - 13 trip in July through Bob, mentioning Steve and Everything Las Vegas of course and we got a good rate I am happy with. We love the place, the location is great and frankly, I am a very cheap gambler. If I made public what I spend on gambling, no casino would have me. Bob must be aware of this and still, he is most courteous and gives us a good rate, considering the prime time we are there (CES show).

We always end up with the same room too which is okay with us. We are not that fussy. Just want a nice place to sleep in a great location and it meets our requirements. We love the restaurants there, even the buffet and the business centre for sending e-mails and checking incoming messages.

I hope it stays there forever.

    Johanna

I stayed at the IP back in January for Thu-Sun when i attended the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. And great location for sure. I didn't have to walk far from the Sands Expo Centre/Venetian. Glad I am staying there again this January for the same reason. Might run into you Joanna.
