Thread: Desert Shores and The Lakes access question...

  1. Default Desert Shores and The Lakes access question...

I was looking at some condos/apartments around the Desert Shores and The Lakes areas. It would be great to be able to use the lake for fishing or swimming or whatever. Do I need to actually live in the part that allows access or can I rent a apt/condo around the area and have access to the lakes? Are they open to the public? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Desert Shores Homes
Desert Shores is lush established planned community of scenic man-made lakes in the northwest at the eastern edge of Summerlin with approximately 3500 homes. Residents stroll or bike along 8.5 miles of community trails watching the ducks and swans that call the neighborhood home. The lakes are stocked with fish so residents can boat or fish, and at the center of Desert Shores is the resort-style community center with the "lagoon," a large, shallow pool with manmade beach plus sand volleyball courts, spa, basketball courts and picnic areas. There is also competitive tennis available at the Desert Shores Racquet Club, a small town home community. Homes, condos and town homes are priced from the $200s to over $2M, and there are lavish custom estates right at the water's edge with private boat docks
    The Lakes
Located directly west of the Strip and south of Summerlin, this lush community was built in the mid-1980's around several large man-made lakes and offers a variety of water sports. Original residents were on the fringes of what was then the city of Las Vegas, but now The Lakes is in the hub of activity close to the Strip. There are lots of green belt areas and jogging trails for residents, and great shopping and schools are located close by. There are over 4,000 residential properties from condos priced in the high $100,000s, to family homes priced from high $200s to opulent custom homes on the waterfront with private docks priced from over $1,000,000 on up.

For the Lakes I know sail boats and electric boats are permitted , I don't know if it has fishing
