Thread: Free show tickets -Seat Fillers

  1. Default Free show tickets -Seat Fillers

I got an interesting e-mail this morning from www.vegasseatfillers.com. It says that if you go to their website and sign up it Will send out notices for free tickets to Vegas shows that need attendance or are in the production stages. It does have some rules...I read them before I signed up. I don't know where this came from but it did not want too much personal info....e-mail address, home address and contact phone. We'll see what they send me.

That is pretty interesting. I read the rules and it doesn't look like it would take a big commitment. Thanks for posting it.

Before I looked at their site I thought...TimeShare, but now I've gone
over their stuff...THIS SOUNDS REALLY GOOFY!
I can't think of ANY Shows that offer preview tics for free...pluss there
are never that many 'new' Shows opening up that would fall into this
catagory to make it worth while to even try for tics...AND, it sounds like
you'd never 'really' be guaranteed of seeing a Show.
The 'RULES'....?...."we don't need no stinkin' rules"...now it sounds like
a chain letter...Somebodys' trying to do somethin' here...not sure what it
is, but it sure sounds like NOT the way you get your Show tickets and I
certainly wouldn't give them any personal information!

There is an old saying that applies, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't (true).

I really haven't heard about this site so I suggest you tread lightly if you have to give out any personal info.

I am not sure about this either. I already assumed that you are not going to get tickets to any major show this way. If you go on their site right now they have one you can attend listed under the daily specials tab. It's for a hypnotist's show filming one time at Aladdin. I think this may be a legit site and this is the kind of things that you are going to get tickets for. Seat filling is certainly not unheard of.... they even do it at all of the major awards shows but those opportunities are so coveted they always go to family and friends of people involved in the production end of the show. Things like infomercials however, go off more like this...they like to get a bunch of people for the filming to make the audience look good without having to pay extras. I'll keep you all posted on any updates I receive.

Here is a brief article by Mike Weatherford from The Las Vegas Review Journal that pertains to this post:

"Finally, an update to a recent report on Gerry McCambridge, aka "The Mentalist," starting a Web site that hooks people up with free show tickets from producers or shows needing to fill empty seats for whatever reason.

I signed up at vegasseatfillers.com two weeks ago, just to see what shows were offered and how often. So far, the answer is three: "The Scintas" and "Hypnosis Gone Wild!" on certain days, and Larry G. Jones, "The Man of 1,002 Voices" every day.

While the site could be something major down the road, if you haven't signed up already, you haven't missed much."

As my wife + I have been members of www.vegasseatfillers.com (now known as showtickets4locals.com) since May 2007, we can testify to the fact that this is a great service to the Vegas locals. This service is a way for the Vegas casinos to show there appreciation to the local residents. Their website membership now is 13,000 members strong.

Although you may not find very many of the TOP Vegas shows offered very often, they offer many worthwhile shows to go and see. We have seen the Le Reve show (an acrobatic-water Cirque du Soleil-style show with 85 performers). We have also attended Tournament of Kings, Danny Gans, Rosanne Barr, Steve Wyrick Magic Show, and The Mentalist, to name a few.

The show offerings can vary from day to day. No two days may have the same show offerings. Some shows may only be offered every few months or maybe just a one-time offer. So be prepared for anything.

A few of today's offerings to the locals were: The Soprano's Last Supper (an audience-interactive HBO spoof play), Top-rated Hypnotist Marc Savard, Comedian Roseanne Barr, Master Magician Steve Wyrick, among others.

They offer 2 types of memberships: FREE- (no cost to receive show announcement emails during the day), OR $100 per year- (to receive advance email announcements 30-minute before the FREE members do).

So, over-all, we re-cooped our $100 yearly cost within 1 or 2 shows.
And we would say, "It is worth it to belong to this site."
