Trip Report 3/23 to 3/27 Long

Flew back from Vegas. What a blast. I was on the 8:10 flight out of Midway (Chicago). When I landed in Vegas at 10:00 am it was 35 degrees warmer. A friend picked me up and Hooters Hotel here we come. I love Hooters restaurants and I was hoping that it would be as good as the others. I was not disappointed. The scenery was spectacular and the food was great also. After eating and gambling for a little while it was off to the Orleans.

The Orleans was a very nice place to gamble. The dealers were fun. Played some black jack and shot some craps and I was even. Then off to the Green Valley Ranch. I signed up for a slot card and did some gaming. I won enough to pay for a shot glass. Then after showing me the area that my friend lives in he took me to the Mirage where I was meeting the rest of my friends who were flying in for the weekend.

First time staying at the Mirage and wow was it nice. We had a strip view on the 16th floor. After I unpacked my bags to the Casino I went. I was playing War for a while and then I switched over to slots with no luck. So we decided to go next door to TI. The 3 of us decided to put in 20 each on the mega jackpot (it is at 16 million and growing). We won 50 and decided to cash out. After playing a few more slots at TI we walked over to WYNN for the first time. I agree with my dad, it looks like a newer version of the Bellagio. At 2 am my friends decided that they wanted to go to Denny’s at Casino Royal. Well the food tasted like a Denny’s.

I was up at 7:30 and went down to Carvings and had a good buffet. It only cost me $53. Well actually $20 at Casino War before breakfast, $13 for breakfast and $20 at Blackjack after breakfast. By the time I got back to the room at 9 my friends started to get up. We decided to lounge around the pool all day. The sun was out and the weather was warm. At 10am I decided to call my dad and rub it in. He told me that it was snowing in Chicago and I really had to give him a hard time about that. By the time 5pm came around had a lot of color on us and the pool area was closing. Time to get ready for dinner. Being Friday in lent we went to Maggianos at the Fashion Mall. Had the Fettuccini for dinner and I could not finish it. I was upset because the next table over a person was eating tiramisu and that looked good but I felt like I was going to explode.


We decided to walk down to Paris to do some gambling. When I first walked in I saw that the gift shop for “We Will Rock You” was still open. I waked through there and everything was 70% off. Dropped about 50 in the slots and no luck so off to the Bellagio
Bellagio was mobbed at the entrance to Light. All of the 20 year olds were in line trying to get in. Did some slots and I won $75. So then I decided to play War. I played for about an hour and gave back my $75 and $80 of my own. So I told my friends that I was decided to go back to the room. While walking out I see out of the corner of my eye 2 HUGE guys and a female walking about 3 feet in front of them. I did a double take and it was Brittany Spears. I said hi Brittany and she said hi and her bodyguards quickly directed her into a shop. 2am and time for bed.

Next morning at 8am I was up and went to the coffee shop for another costly breakfast. $20 playing Blackjack prior to breakfast and $10 for the actual meal itself. By the time I got back to the room the guys were up and we decided to go downtown. We took the duce and 20 minutes later we were downtown. I lost $50 playing craps at the Plaza. We decided to go over to the Nugget to see if our luck would change. Another $20 gone. I decided to go across the street to Binions and I played Mini Baccarat. Well I won most of my money back. I got up and told my friends we should start to make our way back and they agreed. First stop on the way back was the Stratosphere. I was going to go to the top of the tower and get a few photos but it was a 2-hour wait. We decided to gamble instead and won $50. We went to the Luxor Steakhouse for dinner. It took 45 minutes to go from the Mirage to the Luxor via the Duce. We had 45 minutes to kill so I went to the craps table and lost. So at least dinner was good. Went back to the Mirage after dinner and the slots were cold and it was 1am so I went to bed.

Sunday one full day left. We decided to sleep in. Well sleeping in for me was 8:30 and I was back down in the casino where I left off. I was still not having any luck with the slots. Went back to the room and said bye to my friends and left my bags at the front desk. Walked the northern end of the strip since I had time to kill since my friend who lives out in Vegas was working. Went to the Strat again and I decided to play Blackjack for a while. I found a $5 table and bought in for $60. I played for 3 hours on the $60 and lost only $7. It was time to start heading back to the Mirage to meet my friend. After I was picked up we went to Sunset Station for dinner. We went to a steakhouse there and the food was good. Played a little more black jack and called it a night.

When I got up I jumped in my friends pool. His neighbors thought I was nuts. Hey I was going back to Chicago and wanted one last swim in Vegas. Took my friend and his wife to In and Out Burger for lunch and then time to go home.

Only 317 days till I go back….. Unless I can talk the wife into moving out there.

Thanks for the trip report. Sounds like you enjoyed yourself. You never know who you will run into in Vegas, do you. I'm not sure I would even recognize a celebrity if I saw one as I really don't pay too much attention to who is walking around me.
