A fun spot Downtown 3rd

For the past three weeks we have been driving downtown to a Farmer's Market called Downtown 3rd.
Now I know some of you would not be interested in this, But you Never Know what you might find and enjoy a treat. It is on Fridays, in the old bus transport center with the beautiful copper roof. The hours are 9 am to about 1:30 pm. It is on Stewart Street next to the Mob museum and just down the road a short distance is Main Street Station casino. I usually go around noon hour with a special order of produce waiting for me. A gal and her crew from Thousand Oaks, CA and this is the town I use to live in, drives a very long distance every week to help out the folks in Las Vegas with great produce. She supplies many of the restaurants in town too. You can find many other great tasty treats from the local areas that are around Las Vegas coming to this market too. It is growing and getting bigger each week, but it is still small, compared to CA standards, but a fun place to shop. Today there was a pony in the shade for the kids, so the parents can take pictures. There was a BBQ food truck, a coffee truck too. Inside was a counter of freshly made upon request, fruit smoothies and another counter with mexican food, and a counter of breads, Oh Dear I forgot to buy the bread, well back I go or head to the store at Town Square past Mandalay Bay to get that bread. Thanks Mayor C. Goodman for the new farmer's market in downtown LV !!!

Oh yes, I take LV Blvd and I have been going past the Pawn Stars Shop, the crowds are huge, they are lined up to the end of the street and around the corner. Wow, in the hot sun too, amazing !!!

As for the Pawn Stars, they've been getting a lot of exposure on nationally syndicated radio talk shows lately. Plus, a lot of people have it on their "to do" list anyway. They wouldn't buy my Movado watch, so I've stayed away from the place ever since.

Mark Levin's daughter just bought a sign from there. Something one of the stars said, "nobody will want that", on one of the shows.

Thanks Marlene for the review. I will have to check it out in our August trip. I do not think we will have time during Tournament week. I like going to different farmers markets. Do they have people selling jams and jellies and non perishable items?

I do not remember jams and jellies, but one vendor from Henderson sells spices and there are some interesting ones that I would like to try.
Another vendor sells pistachios with different flavors and I just love the Garlic roasted flavor, and I found this to be the best one yet of any other brand or home made !! The vendor also has a salt and pepper flavor pistachios too. They are a bit expensive, a 10 oz bag is $8.00, but worth it. They usually give samples out for you to try.
Another vendor sells honey and you can get 5 flavor sticks for a dollar. There are other honey products too, but since it is hot out, I go with a cooler box with ice packs for the honey products that are in plastic or tins for the beauty aids, otherwise they will become liquid. The lady who makes the honey products gets the honey from the Pistachio ranch, which is in Pahrump, NV.

Diane, I am sure you will find something to take home or nosh on at the hotel. There are other markets, but this one, is closer to me and it is downtown, easy for locals who work and live nearby and tourists to enjoy.
The other one I went to, only one time, is at the Springs Preserve, a long drive for me and there is a hike into the preserve. This one is open on Thursdays and they pack up before 1:30 pm.
There are other Farmer's Markets, a good number of them on the westside, and also in Henderson downtown and south Eastern Ave, near the 215. They are in the mornings up to about noon or so. I have not been to any of these markets.
