Thread: Golden Corral at Imperial Palace???

Default Golden Corral at Imperial Palace???

I just got an email to participate in a survey from Total Rewards/CET. The survey was all about changing the buffet at the IP to a Golden Corral. I could see it with the current IP, but I can't imagine the new Linq cornerstone Hotel having a Golden Corral as the buffet. What in the world is CET thinking? Have they truely lost their minds?

    What's a golden corral?
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. What happens at an ELV slot tournament gets photographed and posted!

Golden Corral is a steakhouse that is franchised across the country although not many are in California anymore. We used to have one here and we loved it.

Harrah's also mention CICI's Pizza and Sweet Tomatoes in the survey. I picked Golden Corral as my choice. I have been to Sweet Tomatoes but not CICI's.

This would be a Vegas first..bringing in an outside company to operate a buffet in a casino.

A lot of casino restaurants are already being operated by outside companies. I can't imagine what the rent is?

As far ar the Linq project is concerned, we all know anything would be an improvement for the IP buffet. (I have to say the buffet is one of the few buffets that rotate their food on a daily basis) I have been to G.C. a few times once in Saratoga, NY (very clean) and once in Albany. (looked like a earthquake hit the place) I don't think it's a bad idea if it goes into the IP. I don't think it would work anyplace else except possibly Bally's, which does not have a buffet anymore. I am sure it would be constructed to meet the standards at Linq.

It's a buffet type restaurant. It serves a lot of different foods buffet style. I have to say that the food is not too bad. They do have a rotating menu. The breakfast buffet is above average.

The first thing out of my mouth was, "What the heck!" I have one of these places about two miles from my home and it is average at best.

So, is it like a Hometown Buffet? We have a few of those out here. They define the word mediocrity but they sure are busy.

Lori, we have several golden corrals here and they are average at best. They have al you can eat steak nightly and is really cheap meat steak is a generous term the seafood is below par the only thing that is consistantly good its drum roll please for matthew is the mashed potatoes. The dessert selection is very limited and not good at all. I remember hometown Buffet here and they were better than Golden Corral.
With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine
