    Theresa,

That actually wasn't the real funny party. You should have seen the look on Matthew's face. First, he had to remove his shoe from his mouth. Then, he just sat there, quiet. Of course, for those of you who know Matthew, to shut him up requires extra duty suspenders. It was a first.

Me? I was laughing too hard. So, no response .... except to keep telling Matthew that I've never seen him so quiet.

I've always had good service (albeit maybe with just a little sass) and good food at EI, and see no reason to not go back...unless it to go to their bbq restaurant instead.

I went here Wednesday for lunch about 12:15. About a 20 min wait. No one left for about 10 minutes then 3 tables about the same time. Took a few minutes to clean and prep the tables and then several of us were seated.

Minor confusion, I had number 8. Hostess calls out number 18, twice. Guy next to me who'd just got there heads to the podium. I head to podium to ask what's up. Then she realized the mistake "number 8".

They offered soup as an option, don't recall that, but I went with the salad. Only had four salad dressing options. I remember them having a really good house dressing one time but that appears to have been an exception. Salad, baked potato, and green beans were fine.

I ordered my steak medium and it resembled a baseball shape when it arrived. Not sure who cuts their steaks but this wasn't the first time. A challenge to cook something that shape evenly I'm sure so some portions were OK and some overdone and dry.

The light beer was great as always. Service fine.

I did the steak and shrimp special at Mr. Lucky's on saturday night when I first arrived in Vegas. Steak was definitely better than the EI one. I typically do both but if there was a trip where I could only do one I'd probably head to Mr. Lucky's rather than EI.

I was there Wednesday night for dinner. I had no complaints with the service. As for the food, I always order my steak rare and this was the first time that I did not receive a rare steak. It had some red in the middle but, for the most part, it was pretty well done. Green beans were good as usual.

I went back a couple days ago... had an early supper.

Things were a little sketchy: The place was 1/2 occupied, but they were assigning numbers to patrons arriving at the hostess stand. Geeez.

Now, for my steak... it was a center cut sirloin as usual. And, Alan.. i'm glad you mentioned the shape and such, because that was similar to mine!!! Very thick, and the problem was it was unevenly cooked. I wanted medium throughout -- but, got pinkish/red down below & gray up top.

<--- thinks he is going to hit the bar b que next time!!!!!

so, the next time I go there, I'll have to order a non-baseball shaped steak, and silverware on the side????

Four years ago.. the marquee out front said "Filet Cut Top Sirloin Steak Dinner $4.99".

Anyhow, it's a steak that (is usually) very thick cut. So, cooking it evenly is a challenge to any cook/chef no matter where you go. Sometimes i wonder if the cooks in E.I. know what they're doing? or are in a hurry? I've been tempted to get it butterflied on request.
