Rooms at the Rio

I will be there for convention July 24-29th. It is conference rate for standard suite and I would like to ask for an upgrade. I am prepared for the 20$ trick and would like to be specific in case I am asked what I want.

Which tower or floor or view is best?!

Stayed at Rio many times but not recently. Probably a couple of years back so it's possible my info is slightly dated. Ipanema tower is preferable in my opinion. More recently remodelled and more central location.

I much prefer the Strip View. I believe in most/all cases that also overlooks their pool complex. Beats looking at a parking garage.

10th floor or higher...
POOL/STRIP view.
Right now, I'd say they booked a Standard Deluxe
Room for you/mountain side view.

If you have an active player's card with CET you might get a better rate then the convention rate. I know with the the rate Caesar's is quoting for the IRS Forum group rate is crazy compared to what I can get with my CET card.

weekday rates are a little lower then convention rate but weekend rates were higher then convention rate so it all balances out and i am only on the hook for 2 extra nights. the other 5 will be convention nights on my expense report.
