I know. I read your post, a while back, where you were questioning where that was and it got me very interested, when I read that Firefly was opening there. Of course, Westie's review of the restaurant on Paradise sealed the deal. That's why I would prefer that location, although the menu is not as complete as the location on Paradise.

I'm so jealous! My next trip seems so far away, but I'm sure it will come fast once Christmas is over. Enjoy your trip and have a very Merry Christmas!

Thank you. It will be my first time in LV over Christmas. I expect it to be kind of quiet that day. I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Lori, My apologies - Happy Chanukah! Christmas and Thanksgiving are the only holidays I haven't spent in Las Vegas. I will be looking forward to your TR.

No worries, Arlene. I think that Christmas is a beautiful holiday that many people celebrate secularly and I have no objection to being wished a merry Christmas. I'm always invited to someone's house for Christmas dinner and I exchange gifts.

When I was growing up (before my mother died when I was 8), we always had a Christmas tree. My mother thought it was a beautiful holiday and we got presents and all. My father insisted that we celebrate Chanukah as well so we got an expensive gift for Chanukah (like jewelry) and toys for Christmas. I liked Christmas better. LOL. After my mother died, no more tree. My mother passed on Christmas Eve so the lack of tree and all never really bothered me.

As a tribute to my parents (my father died about 6 years ago, the day after Christmas--it's a wonder I'm not in therapy this time of year), I try to help someone who is struggling to have a very good Christmas (I'll go out and buy presents for their kids and all).

I say just blindfold her and drag her kicking and screaming to the place lol. She will be very thankful that you did. The whole setting is a very unique, and spectacular Vegas experience, especially if you can get a table as close to the window as possible.

I am sorry to hear about your mother and father passing (and the coincidence of their passings bookmarking the Christmas holiday) but it is wonderful that you were able to turn a potentially distressing turn of events into such a beautiful sentiment, and then used the holiday as a chance to help someone in need...that is the true spirit of Christmas.

LOL. That won't work. She'll be driving--we're taking her new car. We'll see how things play out but I'm going to push it for sure.

Thanks, JR. There's actually more to the story, that I haven't written, which is one of the reasons I try to help out, if I can. I like to think of it as just part of being a good person and taking care of friends. I don't think that should be limited to Christmas but, when kids are involved, the effort is especially gratifying.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother and father. This time of year can be rough. It's great that you have such a positive attitude - a sign of a truly good person. I too try to help others and donate to charity as I know I have a lot to be thankful for.
