OK, we're at T-12 days and now I'm starting to get excited. A lot of our trip will be visiting model homes as my friend, Connie, is looking for a place to retire and I like looking at model homes so there you go. Also, we will be working on bucket list part II, as a continuation of the list we started for last December's trip.

    So far:

    PlacesBoulder City
Atomic Testing Museum (I"m hopeful but it's not a priority)
    Cannery East
Skyline Casino (That's Connie's. I have no dreamin' idea what that's about)
Ethel M's Cactus Garden Christmas Lights
Tallest Christmas Tree at M Resort
    Bellagio Conservatory & fountains
    City Center

    Food

    Lotus of Siam
    Blue Martini
    Rosemary's
    Egg Works
    MSS Buffet
    Huntridge Drug Store
    Luv it Custard
    Serendipity frozen hot chocolate
Hot chocolate at Jean Philippe Patisserie (we've done this before but it's a definite must do every winter trip).

Ha! Open houses are a hobby of mine, too. Never been in Vegas, although I did do some real estate drive-bys once.

The Atomic Testing Museum is really an overlooked gem. Don't put it off forever. Of couse, it's not seasonal like Ethel M's lights, so it's always available.

Also, if you're anywhere near downtown, don't forget to check out all the new stuff at the Golden Nugget (entrance, lobby, expanded casino, etc.) You can park for free in their garage if you get your ticket validated at the casino cashier. Run in, stamp your ticket, look around and run out if that's all the time you have. You could be the first to report on it here.

    Have a great time.

I"m trying to talk Connie into the Firefly at the Plaza. We both looked at the menu and it looks like there are more things on the menu at the Paradise location so it may be a hard sell. Plus, with so many places we want to eat, we know that we just won't get to everything! If we get there, we will go to the GN. In all honesty, I've only ever been in the caisino area where it fronts Fremont St. I've never ventured back toward the hotel so I will have nothing with which to compare it. If we get there, I will take pictures.

The skyline... i still havent been there (i think it's @ Boulder/Russell). An ELV contributor "Marty" makes mention that the prime rib special is dynamite. ELV boardmember Jane speaks highly of it as well.

Thank you, MK. It's good to know. Not sure when and how it will fit into our plans but, if we're there at a mealtime, I'm sure we'll try it.

I really want to try the Firefly. I think that room at Plaza overlooking Fremont St. sounds neat. Plus, the one item I am dying to try is actually on their menu in that location. So many restaurants....so little time. We may get down to MSS for the breakfast buffet. Connie also wants to go to RR breakfast buffet. We've both been there, on separate occasions, and both agree that it's good. Just thinking about it, there's wayyyyyyy too much food.

I just cleaned out my inbox. I was going to call you tomorrow (Monday). I'm finally better. It was one of the longest 6 weeks of my life. It looks like we'll have a few people in town. I'm thinking we could all get together the
26th or 27th, as Connie and I leave on the 28th. We're going to be running around a lot but, worst case scenario, Connie can go look at some houses by herself and I can hang with you guys. I think it would be great fun to all get together for China Mama because I know you want to try it and I just love the food there. I'll talk to you later.

If the Firefly is in that space where Robert Deniro and Sharon Stone met up in Casino, then you must go - at night! That view alone is worth it!
