Steak's Home Is at The Range

If you're looking for a good steak during your stay in the desert, seek out Harrah's Las Vegas. It's home to The Range, where beef-loving casino-goers are known to eat before or after play.

Indeed, you'll hear nary a discouraging word at The Range, which earned "best steakhouse" in Las Vegas plaudits in Casino Player magazine's "Best of Gaming" 2003. It's easier to tell here whether the skies are cloudy while you're enjoying your meal, too: The Range's intimate setting boasts curved windows that offer a spectacular view of the famed Las Vegas "Strip."

However, succulent steaks, prime rib, seafood and poultry entrées are the hallmarks in The Range's corral.

Grilled-to-order steaks come in all sizes, from an 8-ounce filet to a 24-ounce porterhouse. The slow-roasted prime rib, with natural au jus and fresh horseradish, is served in 12- or 16-ounce cuts

The Range also casts quite the seafood net, which yields such items as grilled Atlantic salmon fillets, swordfish steaks, giant shrimp scampi, twin lobster tails and Alaskan king crab legs. The latter are available as an entrée in a full pound or as a side order in a half-pound. If you wish, you can order any seafood item as a side to a steak entrée and create a surf-and-turf feast of your own choosing.

Other entrées on the menu that are sure to catch your attention include free-range grilled chicken, blackened rib-eye chops and double-cut pork loin chops.

The Range Steakhouse is open nightly from 5:30.

Although not required, reservations are recommended by calling 369-5084 or 1-800-392-9002, extension 5084. The Range's dress code is upscale casual. Most entrées are priced from the low to upper 20s.

The Range Steakhouse Lounge, meanwhile, offers live entertainment nightly from 6 to 11. Lounge guests can enjoy cocktails and premium wines, as well as appetizers, specialty coffees and fine cigars.
