In my 8 years of going to Las Vegas, I learned that the week prior to Christmas is the best or one of the best rate times of the year. That's when we go. The hotels are very generous with their rates, especially if you are a member of their Player's Club. It does not matter if you spend a dime or much more in their casino. Once some activity is shown on your Player's card, the computer gets excited and identifies you as a "customer." The hotel then starts sending you great deals-usually, the more you spend the better deal you get. Sometimes, for no rhyme or reason, like this happened to my husband and I, he had very little activity on his card and we received a great deal from Bally's. It will only cost us $129 plus tax for an entire 5-night weekend stay! My point is-if you think you like a certain hotel-join their Player's Club, even if you are not such a big spender in the casino.
