My longest trip in Las Vegas was 6 days and we stayed at Bally's and it was 109* every day.
My shortest trip to Las Vegas was 4 hours. I was Flying from Portland Oregon to Kansas City on SouthWest Airlines and had a 4 hour lay over in Vegas. It was on a Wednesday morning so we rushed out of the Airport and got a Cab and had them drop us off on the Strip right in Front of Bally's / Paris and cruised around for about 2 & 1/2 hours and slammed a bunch of cocktails and beers at Casino Royal and Oshays (Strawberry Daqueries at Barbary Coast) and rushed back to the Airport and Flew to KC & pretty much passed out on the plane because we were very cocktailed up. We played a few shot also on the strip.

We are in Las Vegas every April for 5 nights and every September for 9 nights and have been doing this for the past 33 years.
Shortest trip was 2 days in 1976.
Longest was 8 days in 2008.
Longest interval was 23 years....1976-1999.
Since 1999 I've been in LV almost every year for at least a week!

Longest trip was 7 days....originally planned for three days but went a day and a half early and stayed two days after. Hotel hopping is no fun. Never will do that again. A comfortable stay is 4 days, 3 nights. Just enough time to do almost everything but short enough to look forward to the next trip.
Shortest visit: 10 Hours - went on a bus turnaround trip from So Cal to Downtown.
We try to go twice a year but due to wife's health issues, we haven't been yet this year. Hopefully in September.

The shortest trip was in August of 2007 with my daughter. Flew in from Hawaii and had 17 hour layover waiting to go to Boston to visit my mom who had cancer:( . Went Dowtown and got a room at Binions for $20. did not sleep like we had planned though. Met a friend who lives in Vegas and went shopping and took her to Mainstreet station for lunch.
The longest trip will be in a few days July 6 - 13 with my husband Stephen. Cannot wait, need a break from work even though Stephen and I were just there for 5 days in May and will be going again on August 4th with my daughter. Rebecca was disappointed at not being able to go to the slot tournament. She is in nursing school now and will not be done with summer classes until July 15th.

I don't believe I have ever been there for fewer than 4 nights. Lately I have been going about 5 nights. The longest I was ever there was 7 nights when I drove the 3,000 mile round trip and needed some down time before I drove home. I go no less than once every 6 months and some times more often than that.

Shortest trip was one night. I had a business trip to LA, took Friday as a vacation day and drove to Vegas to see a friend. On Saturday drove to Huntington Beach to stay with a friend and headed back home on Sunday.
Longest trip was Feb 2009, 6 nights. :)
Shortest time between trips 7 weeks, Dec 2008 - Feb 2009. Longest time I would say 2 years probably 3-4 times. :(
(My norm these days is 5 nights, 3 trips per year).

Shortest trip: 1999, one night at the lovely motel 6 next to the airport. I was driving across country, moving. It was the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed at in my entire life, anywhere. It was actually pretty well kept.
Longest trip: just 3 mere nights. That's our usual length for trips. Next time we've decided to do 4 nights.
Longest duration between trips: 7 months, we haven't been since Dec, and we are going back in July. Only reason: was out of the country (Viva Mexico!) and surgery (no bueno.)
Shortest duration between trips: 1 week. Hey, we live just 1 hour away by air and Vegas is CHEAP. I have friends who go almost every single weekend. On any given weekend, I have at least one close friend or co-worker there. It's a good way to keep tabs on my second hometown.

The shortest was two nights, most of the time it's 3. This upcoming trip will actually be the longest at 4 nights.
This trip will also be the quickest as far as a return trip to Las Vegas after about a year. Usually its a year and a half or two.

Our shortest trip was for 5 days...our summer trips are usually short. Our longest trip, not by choice, was one December when Buffalo was snowed in due to a massive snowstorm. The airport shut down on the morning of the day we were scheduled to depart, no flights in-no flights out. SW cancelled our flight and weren't able to get us on a non-stop flight until January 1st. We spent NYE in Vegas which is something neither of us ever wanted to do.
Our shortest time between trips was 3 months; our longest time in between trips was 1 year and that only happened once...2008.

We live in Arizona but go to Vegas five or six times a year because it is only a 4 1/2 hour drive from Arizona.
Shortest trip was three couples got in the van at 7AM and gambled a bit and ate the Wynn dinner buffet and got back in the van and drove home by
midnight - a fun day but I wouldn't have wanted to be the driver - couldn't
stay awake.
Longest is before Arizona we lived in NYC and always came for a whole week
and never wanted to go home - so it never felt long to us.

GEEZ, don't know what happened. Disregard the top portion of the previous entry. I typed in all the dates, years, months and amount of days, we were in LV, into columns but for whatever reason it didn't show up that way. Most importantly is the original Topic which I answered under 21 trips, adding shortest time there 5 days, longest 10 days. Confused yet? I am. I'm going to bed.

I worked for United Airlines. My shortest trip was a redeye flight out of Chicago with several other girls from the airline, getting into Vegas around 1 a.m. No hotel room. We spent the day gaming and eating and flew back that night, getting into Chicago around 5 a.m. Went directly to work. Had passes for flights but no vacation time back then.
Longest trip was 10 nights. Too long for us. Money doesn't last long when you play most of each day. We prefer 3 or 4 night stays now and have gone as often as 7 times in a year. It is fun to know your next trip is only 5 or 6 weeks away.

My longest trip was this past December. My plan was to stay December 7 through December 17. On December 17 McCarran airport closed due to SNOW and I had to remain in Las Vegas until December 21. It would have been great to have been there for such an extended visit except I never hit anything during my entire trip. I just kept losing, losing, losing, I spent more time in my room during that trip than any other time in Las Vegas.
Shortest trip was 4 days, which just isn't enough time.
I plan to go back in September for 7 days. I hope I can reverse the bad luck from my last trip.

Hi All,
Long time reader, 1st time blogger.
My husband and I have been traveling west each winter for the past 10 years. The last 2 years we have visited Las Vegas for only 8-9 days during this trip. However, a few years ago, we were staying between 4-5 weeks each year.
Early on (before comps came along), we stayed at the Budget Suites behind the Stardust between the Strip and Industrial. It was torn down a couple years ago with the Stardust to make room for Boyd's Echelon project.
As most are aware, to stay in Las Vegas for this amount of time you must find other things to do besides gamble! On those visits, we walked every day and watched mothers putting their children on the school bus and the sun setting over Mt. Charleston to the west. It was a great awakening and we saw the city in a new light, along with the rare beauty of the land surrounding it and the diversity of the people in Las Vegas.
We still go to Las Vegas each year, but now often stay off the Strip at the Orleans for a few days at a time. It has a nice close feeling for a larger hotel/casino and is almost like a small city with all you could want in recreation and dining!
Good luck to those going to the slot tournament!
Have a great time - the Hilton is fabulous!

For the past several years I've saddly only gone once a year and I stay for 7 days, mostly from Saturday to Saturday. This 4th of July I am planning a trip and returning on the 11th, maybe, I know I am going to win big, so, I might not come back. :D

Longest trip was 5 nights, it was perfect.....and staying in a fairly nice hotel helped :-)
Longest time between trips was a year.
Shortest time was about 6 months.
I like solo trips for the long trips. DH is not a gambler and he gets bored. I am hoping though we can do a car trip someday and head over to the Grand Canyon for a few days, then back to Vegas for some fun.
Shortest trip was a 2 day weekend
But my yearly trips now are 3 to 4 month stays.....drive down in my motorhome
I visit durring the NFL season and enjoy beting on the games....great city to follow the teams through the season....3 sports radio stations with great coverage of the lines for the comming week....and i can watch all 16 games each week to get a good understanding of how the teams are doing

My shortest trip didn't start out that way. My plan was to stay for three days and two nights. I drove from L.A. to Vegas, filled up my gas tank and started gambling before looking for a room. 30 minutes later I was broke and had no choice but to head back home with my tail between my legs. I learned the importance of money management on that trip! :(
My longest was two weeks My dad lives in Henderson and had been in the hospital. I arrived just before he was due to be discharged which ended up not happening for several more days due to complications. I stayed to make sure he was well enough to get along on his own before flying home to Nashville.
I'm heading back for another week on August 15th :D

Every trip I've taken so far has been for exactly the same amount of time: 4 nights.
Longest between trips has been the current stretch which will be 51 weeks when I end the dry spell on August 16.
Shortest was when I went in mid-February 2006 for my second trip and first solo, then headed back in late April 2006 for my buddy's 50th birthday celebration.

Shortest trip - 4 nights. Longest trip - 3weeks! We like long trips. It allows us to feel like we can take our time and do other things besides gamble. (like go to the pool, take in a couple of shows, go sightseeing.) Otherwise, all we do is gamble, gamble, gamble.
