Help decode the envelopes

Okay,call me dense,but can someone decode the envelopes on the side of each thread?Some of the envelopes are red,blue,opened,closed.What do they mean?????????!!!!(Deep breath in and released).

Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, and you will see the envelopes decoded!! :D
red is for a "hot" thread, blue is a thread read, closed means no new posts on that thread, etc...
just check down further on the page..you will see the envelopes down there with the explanation....
