I have never known of one, but sometimes as I'm sitting in the poker room, I can swear they are giving me the left over cards after pulling to make a pinochle deck, so there very well could be.

What is a pinochle?

It's a card game, Matthew. My grandfather used to play it--seems a lot of retirees know how to play. You can actually buy a deck of pinochle cards or at least you could when I was growing up. I don't know if you've ever heard of a game called Euchre. From what I've been told, it's a derivation of Pinochle.

A pinochle deck has 48 cards, 9-A, two of each suit.

All the other low cards have been removed.

It is a very fun card game. We play here in North Dakota in tournaments all winter long about 1 a month. Usaully it is like $25 per person entry fee and 1st place is like $1000. It is very fun. I heard once there where tournaments in vegas bigger scale. Would love to play in a huge one,And no it is not for retires only lol I'm far from that.:D

Some one out there should know something

And you can play a single deck or double deck game, from 2 to four players.
It's a great game and I have been playing it for many years........
