It's been about 6 years since I stayed at the 4 Queens. I always requested the South Tower with a view of the Fremont Experience. I even requested a specific room but don't recall the #.

Have Fun !!:D

Congratulations on the upcoming trip - now the excitement builds!!!

Bill - If you are going to be a regular Planet Hollywood guest you can apply for a Planet Hollywood visa card - your earn rewards that you can use for future hotel stays, and the card gives you priority seating and/or entry to the restaurants & clubs... they also send you a free $25 Buca De Beppo gift card with your first purchase. You typically earn 1 point for every dollar spent, but while at PH you earn 5 rewards points for every $1 spent in net purchases at Planet Hollywood Restaurants & Bars, dining and merchandise, and at the hotel. For each 2500 points you accumulate, you get a $25 certificate. And there is no annual fee, so it is a good deal. I will probably never stay at PH but I got the card because I can still use the reward certificates and priority seating at the establishments inside!

Noon is the perfect time to arrive because you have the whole first day ahead of you.

Thank you my friend. My thinking is Im already paying for the hotel so why fly into Las Vegas at midnight their time and waste a whole day so I almost always leave early from Boston. Im just happy I finally made a decision and
put deposits down.

I love the early flights...more time in Las Vegas. Just wondering...if you leave at 6:30am EST which is 3:30am PST and the flight is about 5 1/2 hours, you should be in Vegas by 9am their time. Do you have a long layover somewhere?

I have an hour and 10 minutes in Newark, which Im a little nervous about since Ive never been to that airport. My flight leaves Newark at 9am and arrives at 11:38am. The worst part will be getting to Logan in Boston for check-in at 5am.

I have not flown out of Newark in a long time but it should be fine - with an hour and 10 minutes, you should have plenty of time to get to the connecting flight there. I know how you feel about having to get there for 5am but the excitement of traveling to Vegas more than makes up for the early hour. And you are so right about getting there early if you are paying for the room anyway - if you arrive at night you still have to pay for that whole first day in order to be able to check in at a late hour so it is a total waste - you might as well get the full day in that you are paying for. Even when you arrive late afternoon, by the time you settle in it is already evening and most of the day is gone. That is one of the main reasons I love getting there at 10:30am Vegas time - it means getting a whole extra day of the vacation.

Boston_Bill, Connections in unfamiliar airports used to make me nervous. Then I started watching the flights for about 2 weeks prior to my trip making notes about arrival and departure gates. I use the Airlines website and the airport website that shows diagrams of the gates, Starbucks, restaurants and of course the restrooms.

When I'm finally on my trip it's almost like I'd been there before.

I agree with Steve. I want as early flight as possible TO Las Vegas :D .
The flight from LV to Milwaukee :( I prefer mid to late afternoon with a 10-11p.m. ETA.

Funny you should mention that about watching the flights. I always do this too. I'm already looking at trends with these flights as far as gate numbers.
Even in a big airport like Houston it helped.

I am very surprised you can't get an non-stop flight from Boston.

I can but most are more expensive than what I paid for this.

I got stranded for like 6 or 8 hours at Newark last year, flying to my birthland, from California. Not only that, but our flight was in the commuter terminal. Tiny, dirty, ancient and one small bar. That was one of the worst travel experiences ever. Left my home in California around 4am. Got to my distination around 1am. It was awful. I seriously thought I'd never leave Newark, I wanted to cry.

I agree, I love the early flights to Vegas! Being a close neighbor of Vegas is nice. I have an 8am flight, and I am about 5 mins from the airport. I typically get to actually 'sleep in' those mornings and zip through security. (I get up early for work everyday, so getting up and to a close airport actually gives me more sleep.) By 9am I am in Vegas. By 10a we are usually already in our room. Not bad, considering that 4 hours earlier I was still in bed! We also kind of laugh about how quick and easy Vegas is for us. Even though it's more expensive to fly, than drive, it's so much more relaxing. We've done it enough times to even get to know some of the airport personnel. I even get 'insider' tips of which travel days are best.

Today I was looking at the flights and the flight out of Boston said it was delayed by "Mandatory Crew Rest".I would have missed my connection. I know Im somewhat anal about this stuff.
Seven weeks to go :)

The more time in Vegas the better. You can always nap once you get into the room. Good luck to you, have a great time and don't forget the TR!

T-15. Getting in the zone now. Cant wait. Havent really booked anything as far as shows. Think Im playing it all by ear. Still sticking with Plaent Hollywood for the last two nights but if a better deal comes along I might switch. Does anyone know if the 2009 NFL odds are up yet?

T-5. Kind of odd not having any definite plans. Gonna play everything by ear and see how it goes.

Very exciting!! It's T-16 for me and so I know how you feel - sometimes winging it is the best way to go. Since you are staying at PH make sure you spin the free wheel across from Hawaiian Tropic Zone every single day - there are a lot of prizes including free buffets and show tickets, so you may score some free tickets to a show after all.

I ended up cancelling PH. Im staying at 4Q the entire trip. My rate there just went down to $23 a night, 4 nights for under $100 works for me. I know you get what you pay for but as long as its clean and safe I dont care.

For $23 a night you got a great deal - and most people don't spend much time in a room anyway - and all it means is that you just have more $$$ to play with. If you do end up traveling to the strip it couldn't hurt to spin that PH wheel and see what you get!

And jbenter -you must be beside yourself with joy lol - which reminds me that it is time to make my A1 reservation for my own fast approaching trip
