Anyone know of buffet or reasonably priced restaurant deal for large amounts of Alaskan King Crab legs? My husband just loves them. We've eaten at the Rio, we loved it,but still looking for a deal on the big ones:)

I am unaware of any buffet that serves King legs. All do the Snow thing. The Fremont has Stone claws (medium) which I think are the best flavor.
Sorry, I didn't answer your question. :o
Somebody here will educate us both. :)

The buffet at Bellagio serves Alaskan king crab legs.

Not only does the Bellagio have them, so does the Wynn Buffet, but both buffets are probably the most expensive ones on the Strip. I've been to both buffets, and I see more people going crazy for them at the Wynn.

I have not been to the Wynn buffet so I can't compare but the times I have been to Bellagio's buffet, I have seen a few people go absolutely nutso with those Alaskan King Crab legs - one woman piled her plate so high I was surprised none slid off into oblivion on the way back to the table - didn't she realize she could go back and get more??? LOL I am sure they must have some heck of a supply in the back because they replenish them often. Even though the Wynn and Bellagio buffets are the most expensive on the strip I think they are both worth it -especially in terms of what you get. If you want Alaskan King Crab legs you are just not going to be able to find them at a standard buffet, so it is worth the price to be able to eat all the crab legs you want, as well as a lot of other very good dishes including seafood, asian cuisine, pastas and pizzas and a fantastic dessert selection. FYI The Fri and Sat Bellagio dinner buffet is a gourmet buffet and is a whole lot more expensive than the rest of the weeknight dinner buffets...

Wynn's used to offer split crab legs. Does Wynn's still offer split crab legs and what other buffet offers split crab legs?
I'm not a big fan of the other seafood or shellfish offerings on the RIO Seafood buffet.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking more toward Bellagio. Now husband wants to know if they're hot, doesn't like cold served. Thanx

I am trying to remember how they are served (I am not a fan of crab legs so I never pay too much attention)...from what I recall I believe they are cold served at Bellagio. I don't know if the Wynn would have them hot but I am sure one of the Wynn regulars here would be able to tell you!

... last summer we tried to find just the regular crab legs at a buffet but after sceaching for a few days someone finally told us that they go out of season during the summer.
Now that might not be true for the King Crabs, did not check the Wynn or Bellagio buffets.

I researched online and found that king crab is only harvested between October and January, and legally they can only keep the male crabs they catch. So I guess that means that a lot of the king crab legs we see piled up high at the buffets are most likely frozen rather than fresh....

I am 99% sure that all crab legs are frozen before we eat them, except Maryland blue crab, but thats a whole different beast altogether.

I was at the Wynn buffet for dinner last night and they had the Alaskan King Crab Legs. They were served cold. When I posted earlier and commented how they go more crazy for it at the Wynn, what I more accurately should've said was, at the Wynn, there is always a line about 10 - 15 deep for the crab legs. I have not seen the same kind of line at the Bellagio buffet.
I think the Wynn also has the best shrimp cocktail. The shrimps are large and succulent; they are NOT water logged. They were soooooooo good.
