Well I'm going back about 3 years now, but back then the Luxor had poker lessons in the early afternoon. It was not so much lessons on good play - more like the mechanics of the live game. From memory the lessons went for 30-45 minutes and then the table morphed into a low level limit holdem game with most of the people who took the lesson staying on to play.
Don't know if they still hold this but it's something you could look into.

Here is a web site that lists casinos with poker also if and when they have lessons.

Since what the casinos offer is always changing I would suggest calling the casino to verify the information on this site.

I've taken the lessons at a couple of different places and wanted to add:

Just to be clear that when they say "Poker Lessons" they aren't talking about lessons on how to play poker, but more about "How to play poker in a poker room"

So they will be covering things like etiquette, how to bet, how not to bet, how to buy in, how to cash out, how to tip the dealer, what you can and can't do, etc

But then won't cover anything about the basic strategies of the game.

I hear Excalibur does not have a live poker room anymore. They have a video poker room like some indian casinoes have for BJ. Everyone sits around Video screens that you have to hold your hand over for when the cards pop up. You don't even get real chips, it is all electronic. Like playing on the internet, but you have to get dressed to do it.

I just want to see it next week, but have no interest in playing there. Anyone see it yet?

I've read quite a few reviews of the poker room on Vegas travel sites as well as some poker web sites.

I would say the majority of the reviews I read from people who actually played there were pretty posotive.

Not everybody is going to like these tables or even want to try them, but thats ok as they give choice and options to people who want that.

Thats really what Im looking for. I play alot on-line but Ive never played at a live table before.
