I have used several forums for different interests of mine, over the years. This is the only forum that consistently provides a 'forum' to ask questions and provide advice, without flamers and personal attacks. The moderator has done a great job of keeping things civil. I get peeved on other forums when I see lots of sarcastic and snide remarks. This forum really encourages people to contribute. Thank you.

You mean with all the stupid stuff some of us say...you still like us???LOL
I know what you mean. There is one board that you have to PAY to be a member of. I let my membership lapse because I got tired of the 'crap'. Even some of the members who seemed to be friends were beginning to be at each others' throats. The info on that board can be found other places anyway.

You're so right, Harold. There's a level of maturity here and we truly like each other. Steve has provided us an awesome place to hang out.

I agree. I don't see the point of flaming just because someone has a different opinion than mine. I can't help it if they're wrong so why bother hollering? :D

I hate you all, cause you win more and get to go more.
I hope you get a bad shrimp at the Golden Gate, followed by a rancid deep fried twinkie! :D:D:D

I couldnt agree more..... ELV ROCKS!!
Steve, I said it many times... Thank You!
It is so nice to be able to come here and know there are lots of others (over 6000 now) that have the same addiction. They perfectly understand why I choose to take most of my vacation time in Vegas. They never question me as to why I do not go some other place. They get it when I start planning next trip on the flight home... I love this place, of course all the awesome people on here is what makes it special.
Janet
Couldn't have said it better! Some people wonder why we return to Vegas...year and year. And if lucky enough, more than once in a year. Those of us who are part of this forum know why :) My husband and I are fortunate enough to be going to Vegas TOMORROW!!! Yeppie:D

OOOOOOOH NOOOOOOOOOO, not my deep fried Twinkies! How can you dis' my one sinful treat? Caveat: I think Wikipedia defines "sinful" as a heart attack on a stick. And using it as a curse? That's below the belt. And even after I agreed with you on downtown seafood buffets.
At least you didn't bad mouth the deep fried Oreos. That would have been fighting words (assuming that I don't have a heart attack or indigestion after I eat one).
Now, if I can only get off of this couch to do anything about it.
But this forum is the best. I think Steve has created something, similar to his personality, that allows free thinking but within the confins of good taste. I also think the members won't tolerate bad behavior and such behavior has been handled.
Just don't mess with my deep fried Twinkies/Oreos. Excuse me while I take some Pepto.

Ditto Harold!! I was a member of another board but I didn't like all the back biting and snide remarks being made. Not to me because I didn't really post, but to everyone else who did! Steve's forum is one of the friendlies places on the net and you can get an answer to almost every vegas related question you can think of!
Mike, deep fried twinkies and oreos? People joke about the Scots liking deep fried mars bars because we have the highest heart attack rate in Europe. But these people are kidding! I'm sure they taste wonderful though ;)

oooooo, deep fried Mars bars. I'm gonna have to tell Mermaids to add this to the menu. But arm brought it up. I was trying to defend the breakfasts of champions.
And see, even if you like the worst piece of food ever made, you can voice your opinion here and not get run off these boards. You won't be able to attend the heart attack prevention convention, but you won't get run off these boards.

Food Network had a show on last night called "Deep Fried Paradise" which is part of their "Food Paradise" series.
They also had the deep fried twinkie, as well as bacon and burger patties.
We have a fair (The "OC" Fair) every year that has several booths that feature deep fried foods, including: tomatoes, avocado, Twinkies, Snickers, Reese's, Oreo's, frog legs and more.
The candy comes out great, when fried. Basically the batter they dip it in, becomes like a doughnut when fried. (A doughnut basically being fried batter.) The candy (on the inside) then melts. Imagine a piping hot doughnut with a melted candy bar inside.
The fair also has a Texas sized doughnut (about the size of a plate) and a fried chicken sandwich that uses raspberry jelly krispy kreme's as the buns. Tums should set up a booth too. Anyway, I never knock anything until I try it. I have yet to be disappointed at the fair. I'll try anything once.
Food network also did "Steak Paradise" which featured Las Vegas' own Japanese Steak house, Musashi. (My favorite restaurant in the world.) You should see the difference in his kobe, vs the competitor.

And if you want to get a jump start on your deep fried extravaganza (on a stick) you could come down here to the San Diego County Fair which starts in about two weeks, at the Del Mar Racetrack (I must find the chicken and Krispy Kremes sandwich). I missed it last year but the year before they had rattlesnake. Didn't try it--too expensive. I'm not a big fan of the deep fried variety except for the zucchini and the Australian potatoes.
Where's Musashi?

Musashi is JUST off strip. 3900 Paradise Rd, next to Yolie's. www.musashilv.com
I've been going there for years. Cab will run you around $10 from the strip. It's 'closest' to the Venetian. Good teppan grill. The chef makes everything from scratch.

As an example of the great monitoring of this forum, Steve just took off a post regarding shooting firearms in Las Vegas. An argument can be made that such a subject pertains to Las Vegas and should be discussed. But Steve drew the line and I'll back him on that.
Point being that there is a line.
All of this talk about deep fried foods makes me want to go to the fair and take my indigestion like a man.

I did not remove the post. If it's gone, the poster removed it. I got complaints about the wording of the post but it did have to do with Vegas and I left it up. I just closed it and reffered all replies to the poster via private message.

I have to agree about this being an awesome forum. I don't post very often but have always been treated with respect. I have recently checked out another major travel forum (I post to a forum in Florida on there and the people on the Florida forum are very nice). Not so with the Vegas forum some posters were so nasty I was afraid to post on it! Thanks for being such a friendly place to visit!:)

I am on at least twice a day on this website. I constantly check to see if there are any new trip reports, and just read and comment on some other subjects. This is a great site!

Sorry Steve for the mis-statement.
