Hello, we have seen almost everything in Vegas twice now. We were wondering if we should shell out the 125 plus to see one of the cirques shows. I know when I've watched it on Free Pay per view I was board. Also I heard that the Cirque shows where catering to people from other countries that do not speak English. But that is what I have so I am not sure.
Should we finally go see one and if so witch one would you recommend
Thank you :)

Without a doubt I feel the Cirque shows are worth the money. We've seen "O" twice, "Mystere" twice and "Ka" once. I think the general consensus from reviews I've read on several message boards is that you should probably start with "Mystere" and if that one is to your liking go on to see the others in the future. As far as seeing a Cirque show on tv and being bored, I have no desire to watch one on tv even though I think they are great live.

The only one we've seen is "Mystere" and thought it was worth it. We also had the idea from watching them on television that it wasn't our "cup of tea" but found most of the show really amazing in person. We are planning on seeing "O" in one of our next few trips.

We've seen all but Zumanity and each was worth the money. My wife's favorite is Mystere, mine O. You cann't go wrong with any of the 3 we've seen.

I've seen KA and it was very good. The sound is awesome. You need to sit about 10 or so rows back to get the full impact of what is going on.
Whether or not it's worth the ticket price? My tickets were comped. Don't know if I would pay for it. Guess it depends on how much you are willing to spend to take a chance on something different.

CIRQUE's language is universal, thus it appeals to all people.
I think folks should start with MYSTERE. It's the origional and the best example of what CIRQUE is all about I think...funny
you guys haven't caught any of their Shows yet. If ticket price
is a concern, MYSTERE is the most reasonable of the four.
Section 203, Rows AA,BB,CC,DD,EE are probably the best areas
to view and enjoy everything MYSTERE has to offer.
Call the t.i. BOXOFFICE, don't book on line. 1.800.944.7444

We've seen Mystere and 'O' and I feel they are worth it. Mystere has some comedy to it, which I loved, and 'O' is just amazing...for lack of a better word!

We just recently saw "O" and it is a great show. From the beginning we were enthralled by the acts. So much to see. We had great seats and could see the expressions of the performers. Price is high but show is enjoyable, even the music was wonderful. We plan to see Mystere next. If you have a casino host at any of MGM properties, they can make ticket reservations for you via the VIP services. Seats we've gotten from VIP have been excellent - almost in front center of stage.
Our play at NYNY qualified to have the O tickets "comped". We saw Mystere in January and loved it also although we paid. KA is next.
If you don't have a Host, get one. We are not high rollers but do mainly play where we stay and we get comps on room, meals and sometimes freeplay (MGM & Venetian properties) :)

I have seen O and Mystere and felt that both were worth the price. The shows were both amazing and I'll be seeing Ka in a few weeks on my next trip.

Saw Mystere ,O , and Zumanity. Dont waste your money on Zumanity. IMHO "O" is the best show in vegas. Wifey and i liked it MUCH better than Mystere. Next trip we will have to check out Ka.:)

Have seen Mystere, O and Zumanity. Zumanity was good, but I definitely could have lived without seeing that one. The other two were SPECTACULAR. TV just does not begin to do these shows justice. I agree with GREGRIO - begin with Mystere, as it is the most reasonably priced, to see if you like the genre. If so, move on from there!
These shows are like potato chips - once you start, you just can't stop!:D

'LE REVE' at Wynn is getting a real slow start (as did MSYTERE years ago)
I'm not going to see it until next year....tried to book it when McHarrah's
canceled WWRY on me, but they're on hiatus in early December.
It's still going through growing pains, having been 'tweeked' a couple times
so far....I hear it's getting better, read some 'must-see' reviews, and
most folks say the Showroom is wonderful!. It's in A-Round and also sports
a 'water' theme like "O".

...and I've seen it twice now, once from one of the theatre seats,
and the second time from one of the Barstool seats in the back...they
were good too and alot cheaper.

I'm all for naked ppl running around on stage, but as a cirque show, the talent, and acts were just not there. IMHO:)

LOOK AT THE SEATING CHART FIRST. www.treasureisland.com
'click' Entertainment, MYSTERE, Reserve Tickets, choose a date then
'click' View seat map...Print it, draw it, REMEMBER IT because you want
to call the BOXOFFICE for tickets...don't get 'em On-Line.
I just tested some possible On-Line purchases...they're not consistant.
A good seat is going to cost you $75. pluss tax. (choice 2 on their chart)
Choosing choice 1 for $95. the seat was quite poor...DON'T BOOK ON LINE.
TALK TO THE BOXOFFICE.
Your first choice is SECTION 203, ROWS AA,BB,CC,DD,FF.
Second choice would be SECTION 204, same rows and as close to
the isle next to Section 203.
REASON: It's the best, most comfortable view, to see all the wonderful
things MYSTERE has to offer. Stuff happens all over the Theatre...in the
air, on the walls, all over the stage. The side Sections, 201,206,101,105
limmit your view to the point......don't even bother getting a ticket.
(these were the $60. tickets you saw......)
I've seen MYSTERE 7,8,? times now over the years. Two months ago, I
sat in Section 204, Row AA next to Section 203...GREAT! Most Shows
I've been in Section 203, Rows AA, CC, GG.
I've been in the front Section 103 and it's too close. You miss all the
Pre-Show fun that happens on the main isle where you come into the
Theatre...you have to turn around, look up and back to view it...NO FUN.
The aerials are also harder to view from down front.
The Show sells out, get your tickets well in advance, call the
BOXOFFICE and request where you'd like to sit. 1.800.944.7444
MYSTERE DOES NOT offer tickets through the half price outlets.
SIDE NOTE IN RE. TO ZUMANITY....
I recieved and email update from 'Madame' who represents ZUMANITY
this morning. The Show has added 6 new artists to the Human Zoo.
Two new women (...very beautiful) have been added to join the
Bolero Sisters in the 'WATERBOWL' along with other new acts.
These additions sound quite good.....looks like I'll have to see it again
on my March trip, this December one is FULL: FAB FOUR, LYNYRD SKYNYRD, BLUE MAN,
AVENUE Q, LEGENDS IN CONCERT and LeANN RIMES.

"O" is just awesome! It is something like you have never seen before. The way people spend money is Sin City, it's like a drop in the bucket to see such talent - it is simply breathtaking! You would want to sit a bit back, though, if you are too close to the stage you can't get the full effect of the show. Try "O", you'll be soooooo.... glad that you did!! kimimurad

Definitely worth the $. You can get great 2nd row seats at Zumanity and Mystere for $95. We've seen them all. Zumanity was our favorite (which we've seen twice) followed by Mystere. 'O' and 'KA' - a little pricier but well worth it.

Once again, Gregrio has come through with the info. I have to agree to start with Mystere, and I think there is a special BOGO ticket right now? (Maybe Gregrio would know that as well!)
I hate circuses, but went the first time because it was so highly recommended. What a delightful surprise. Like nothing I have ever seen before! We have also been to see "O". Thanks for sharing Gregrio, you are a great asset to this board!

I have been going to Vegas for 14 years and been reading and participating in Vegas message boards for for 6 years and I have never heard of BOGO for any of the cirque shows. I would be very interested to know where this info came from. Is this from a book, magazine, special promo?? How about some facts.
GREGRIO

...first time I've heard the term and it's too early in the morning for me
to figure out abbreviations...what's a BOGO?
So far, I've never heard of any kind of discount to a CIRQUE show...

We saw Mystere on our first trip to Vegas last year and it blew us away totally amazing - worth every cent. Last time out we saw Zumanity, I had read the reviews on various sites and just thought it was some liberal god fearing Americans who objected to sexiness who were posting bad reviews. But I was wrong It's a dull show completely unsexy and not even worth $25 per person - I still want to see 'O' and Ka but first I have to see the Blue Man Group! - We fly out in 19days:cool:

CIRQUE's language is universal, thus it appeals to all people.
Well... not all people ;) The whole freaks in leotards vibe is creepy to some of us. A minority, to be sure, but if you can't stand circuses and acrobats you likely won't enjoy Cirque shows either.
And yes, you'll be told a million times "it's different." For me, it wasn't.

We live in Vegas now. Relocated here 2 1/2 years ago.
This is a slow time of year for Vegas and they run great specials for locals..
We saw Mystere last night for $35.00 a ticket.. The couple sitting next to us paid $75.00 a ticket. We were center all the way on top, but I must admit, I think the seats that are higher up are better viewing seats since alot of the show is arial act... Beautiful.. They have a live orchestra as well. We enjoyed it immensely.

Two for one tickets for Lance Burton... $35.00 each.. was alright... I was more impressed with the theatre than the show.
$35.00 tickets for Mystere at Treasure Island .. for locals who show their id.

Cirque shows are not for everyone. My wife and I love them, we saw Mystere and Zumanity (only ok), took a friend to see O and his only comments was "what were they smoking when they thought that up" I loved it.
If you don't like it on TV probably won't like it live (although it''s way better)
GREGRIO

MYSTERE, "O", KA`, even ZUMANITY are all wonderful Shows and offer
a variety of sights and choices most folks can choose from and end up
with a great evening of entertainment.
Like 'TommiR' says, they're not for everybody. The tickets are expensive, there aren't any 2for1 discounts, the Section you choose for your seats
are important...upper/center for most Shows work best, balcony for some
also....down front isn't usually the best choice for CIRQUE productions.
As 'kassa' mentions, the language is universal...you don't need to speak
English to understand and enjoy a CIRQUE Show...that's why they're so
popular with all the different nationalities that visit LAS VEGAS.
Folks who don't see many LIVE shows can either be totally WOWED! or
just puzzeled. You shouldn't be trying to 'figure out' or 'find some meaning'
in a CIRQUE DU SOLEIL production...although the producers did have ideas
in mind, they're beond many folks ability to understand and you shouldn't waste too much time trying to figure them out.
SIT, WATCH, ENJOY the amazing ARTISTS and what their skills allow them to do to entertain you...the textures of colors, costumes, lighting, make-up...
the Theatres' themselves...CIRQUE creates a total VISUAL for you eyes
and mind...but don't think about the Show too much. there's SO MUCH going on, you'll miss something.
If you are uncertain about Cirque, go see Mystere first. We were there in October, and were able to get seats in advance for $75. We were in the second level, center stage, great view.
If you like what you see, you can always pony up the $100plus for the other shows. FWIW, someone told me that Ka is the best, especially when they "tip" the stage so that it is at an angle to the audience.

all Cirque shows are worth the money. HOWEVER, if you are still in sticker shock you could get Mystere, O, and/or KA at a reduced price at TIX4TONITE (next to the Harley Cafe and at the Fashion Show Mall). but u should know that these tickets are not always availible bc they are one of the more popular shows on the Strip

We have seen Mystere and Zumanity. We loved both shows and are anxiously awaiting the chance to see O, KA and LeReve. Cirque is not like most shows. You need to just sit back and watch it. There is a plot but not like a traditional play or musical. Their shows are surreal. You must keep that in mind. Why would you pass up the opportunity to see something so amazing? If the cost is your draw back, just remember that you can't take it with you so you might as well enjoy it while you're here.
MikeinChi
02-16-2006, 08:00 AM
I've seen each of the Cirque shows at least twice and would recommend all of them with the exception of Zumanity which I wasn't crazy about. (I have not seen Le Reve which technically is NOT a Cirque show.) I would agree that Mystere is a great "starter" show. "O" is really excellent. I think they raised the bar with "KA" - it's unbelievable and nothing like you've ever seen before. Pricey, yes, but worth it.
GREGRIO
02-16-2006, 11:13 AM
Like 'MikeinChi' says...LeReve isn't a CIRQUE Show...it's a work by
Franko Dragone who used to be with CIRQUE. He also is the producer of CELINE's show AND!...........
if you want to see it over at WYNN LAS VEGAS, you might want to see
it first. It's never really 'clicked' with audiences and might be replaced
with something else...final word by April.
Now I've always liked ZUMANITY and for those who didn't but might
be willing to give it another try someday...they've added 6 new members
to the cast of Artists and 'tweaked' the Show again.
TIX4TONIGHT has been known in the past to offer CELINE and BLUE MAN
tickets late in the afternoon...never heard of any CIRQUE to ELTON tickets
but it's always possible... but not a guarantee enough for me to be hangin'
round the half price outlets all afternoon waitin' for a 'MAYBE'.

02-24-2006, 07:04 AM
I've seen Mystere and Zumanity and I liked them both but I'm going against the grain and admit that I enjoyed Zumanity alot more than Mystere. I've always wanted to see O but whenever I try to book tickets, they are too expensive or the seats completely suck. You should try to see one of the shows and then you can decide if the 100 bucks is worth it.
GREGRIO
02-24-2006, 07:30 AM
...and that's really the bottom line, you've got to see these Shows and
form your own opinions. Asking questions are great and the replies will help and confuse...go with you gut and choose something.
'Mandy'...2nd Row Balcony for 'O' offers the best price and a great view.
I think the answer to this question depends on the individual person. For me, I would definitely say yes. I have only seen KA so far but I loved it. I like good shows and good restaurants, besides gambling in Vegas. Now I have friends who don't like expensive shows and since the more expensive Cirques shows are $100+/person, then these shows are probably not for them.
