I guess this is what happens when you set your roof on fire.

So is this the beinning of going back to high end?
I still wonder how much longer Vegas is going to want the people who are not high rollers and people who look for deals on accomodations?
I mean currently there are so many deals out there, more so this year than ever I believe. But is this just a temporary thing where we are wanted for the time being, but when the economy gets back on track then we will be shown the door and not be welcome?
I mean I have never stayed at Wynn, Encore, Ventian, Palazzo, Bellagio, Caesars Palace or Mandalay Bay. The rates are just too much for me. Plus for me to spend $150 a night for a room, I can pay that in Niagara Falls and just drive there in 90 minutes and not have to pay for airfare. I can't justify forking over a weeks pay for a room and another for airfare. But that was the trend and direction Vegas was going...now they are pausing I would guess.
Monte Carlo must need the business as it seems it never opened up with much fan fare like NYNY, and is the quiet neighbour to it. But now being like Mandalay Bay and having the top floor a seperate hotel? Like the Four Seasons.
I wonder when City Center opens, will this lead the rates to start climbing back way up?

I'd say no.

These "new" rooms are the repaired, renovated and reopened high end rooms and suites that were damaged in the fire.

Just looks like the Monte Carlo is taking as much advantage as possible of their situation.
