Time's getting close and wouldn't you know it? I've caught whatever it is that's going around. Like sonntex I'll be starting out my trip snotty. I've been pumping in the Airborne and those little nasal swabby things, so we'll see if anything works. Scratchy throat, nose alternating between stuffy and drippy. Very attractive.

get well soon Lois, cause when you get here, you may have allergy symptoms to deal with as well. The pollen counts are extremely high, ans I've been sneezing for the past 3 days!

Nothing worse than being sick in LV. My sister in law was there for 3 days and stayed in her room all 3 days because she had the flu, sicky. I used to come home from LV and be sick but I got smart, now have my flu shot before I leave for Vegas.

Just in case, there is a really great product I have used before called "Earplanes" - if you have any kind of congestion and want to avoid the painful "ear pop" when you are flying with a cold, this product is a MUST - it regulates the pressure in your eardrum during takeoff and landing and is a lifesaver. In fact, I would recommend that anyone have them as a part of any traveling kit along with standard ear plugs for sleeping. You don't have to use Earplanes just for flying sick - anyone who has a problem with the airplane pressure of taking off and landing would benefit from it. I know CVS and Walgreens sells them - any major drugstore chain should carry them as well. Here is a link to the product so you can read a little more about what it does:

Unfortunately that has been going around - a couple of weeks ago I woke up with no voice at all and it developed into a slight cold. I started to get congested but I started taking Mucinex and got a LOT of rest and I knocked it ou in less than a week - I practically willed myself to be healed because I whad plans to go to Atlantic City for the Easter weekend and I did not want to miss my trip...you may be able to do the same before your trip!

OK, things have improved somewhat, after a rocky start this morning. I'm actually breathing now and my taste has returned. Spending money for food you can't taste seems like such a waste!

Our weather at home was 90◦ today and more to come, so there's no need to bring anything heavy to wear to and from the airport. A good thing.

Bags are packed, we're ready to go. Mr. C says we're leaving the house at 4:30 and how long do I need to get ready. I told him 8 minutes, but that's fudging it a little. :D Who’s going to sleep tonight?

I am happy to hear you are feeling better - you just know that Vegas air has miraculous healing qualities - it's practically Lourdes lol - I am sure by the time your feet hit the Vegas soil you will be 100% and ready to clean out the casinos :D

Hope you are doing fine by the time you get to Vegas, Legalois. Nothing worse than having a drippy nose while gambling. And of course, you don't want to be so hoarse you can't give them your SS# when they ask for it on
the W2-G.:D

And thanks, jr, for that tip about Earplanes. I will have to try them because sometimes when I get off the plane I am deaf for hours until I cough or sneeze.

You are very welcome - they really are a lifesaver for anyone who has problems with the pressure. There is nothing more unpleasant than that flash of white hot pain when you do cough (or in my case, hold my nose and force the air out my ears) and get your ears to depressurize...
