I went for dinner close to midnight, but Café Bellagio, opened 24 hours a day, was still fairly busy. I sat down, and promptly ordered a Mojito. This being my first Mojito, I can’t tell you whether it was good or bad, but I liked it, although I found it pretty sweet. It didn’t taste overly strong, and had plenty of fresh mint in it. It was good, but what do you expect when you pa $12 for a mixed drink.
Shortly after I got my drink, the waitress brought over a basket of fresh, crusty bread and butter. Since I’m an appetizer person, and since I was in Vegas, I figured “what the heck, I’m getting a starter”. I ended up with the pot stickers – 5 pan fried dumplings that were more like Japanese gyoza than Chinese dumplings. The pot stickers were served with a spicy dipping sauce that contained soy, ginger, cilantro, and chili paste. The pot stickers, for $9, were excellent, and I quickly made them disappear.
For my entrée, I ordered the flank steak sandwich on a cheese role with coleslaw. The sandwich had shaved flank steak, lettuce, tomato, a cilantro mayo, guacamole, and balsamic grilled onions. The cheese roll was the size of a hard roll. Just like everything else, the sandwich was excellent, and came in around $14.
With tax and tip, the bill was about $48. A little pricey for a coffee shop, but it’s the Bellagio, service is excellent, and a $12 cocktail doesn’t do anything to keep the price down.
