Hi,
My names Lynette and I live in Cleveland Ohio. Two years ago I moved from Hamilton, Ontario Canada where I was born and raised to the US to marry my wonderful husband who is not a gambler .. best only to have one in the family lol.
I was a frequenter at the casinos in Canada and now that I'm in Ohio (which currently has no casinos) I have experienced withdrawl symptoms lol.
At the end of this month I will be travelling to Vegas with a girl friend for my first time and in my quest for information I pleasantly came upon this site. I appreciate the advice that I've already received from members of this forum and I look forward to meeting a few of them at the Seahorse lounge :)

Hang in ther Lynette, it won't be long before OH votes in casinos. Until then you could always drive up to Presque Isle in Erie (if you haven't already done so) for a quick fix in between regular trips to Vegas. You'll find that once you go to Las Vegas, you WILL become a regular visitor, and you may find that need a fix now and then.
Many of us (busloads) here in Western NY use Presque Isle for that. In fact I'm going there on March....................
BTW Welcome to the board!

WELCOME Lynette!!!! It always good to hear from someone visiting LV for their first time. Is it your girlfriend's first time also? Hope it's all you're expecting. We just came back on the 10th and am ready to go back but I guess I'll have to wait till Sept. This board is loaded with info and if you can't find what you're looking for just write in and ask. Someone usually has the answer or suggestions. Happy you came across ELV. When you return you'll have to write a trip report to let us know how you and your friend liked it. Have a great time and Win Lots O Money.

Welcome to ELV Lynette. The folks here are very friendly and we kid each other a lot. To know us is to love us. LOL. If I have a chance, I might meet you at CP at the Seahorse Lounge. My time is not always my own so I can't always make these things.
Hope you have a blast with your friend in Vegas!

Welcome Lynette,
I'm near Cleveland, also. Been to Vegas many times, but haven't been for about a year and a half. I'm going through withdrawal-LOL.
We go to Presque Isle (PA) and Mountaineer (WV). It helps with the "fix" but cannot compare to Vegas!
Make sure you get players cards at any casino that you visit and play at.
I'm sure you will be back and you may earn some comps.
Have a great time & win LOTS!!!!

Welcome aboard Lynette as mentioned you can get alot of info from the people here at ELV.I have some relatives that also live outside of Cleveland. Have a fun and safe trip and if you don't mind leave some of your winnings behind so we can pick them up for you on our next trip to Vegas.:D

Welcome to the friendliest forum on the 'net Lynette! If you have any questions just ask, and as G Dunn said, if you can, give us a quick trip report after your holiday and let us know what you did, saw, loved, etc. These trip reports keep us going as we get to live vicariously through each other's holidays in between our own trips!

We are from Toledo area and Ohio finally pass the casino vote. Which they
are going to built one not more than 15 mins. from my house. I am not sure that is going to be a good idea for me. I go to Detroit and Canada
once in awhile to the casinos. I love going to Canada, no smoking.
But none of them will take the place of going to Vegas for a week .
It is a whole different trip.

I'm also from the Cleveland area and yes it's true that we finally voted for casinos (although I would have preferred to open it up to everyone and not grant a monopoly to certain people, but that's how we do things in this state, stupidly), I will probably go a couple times out of curiosity but I don't see me being a frequent visitor, unless it really blows me away.
