How much does everyone tip in Vegas, such as taxi drivers, dealers, the hotel staff (maids, bell hops) etc,,,,
If a casino has their limo pick you up--should you tip the driver?

$2 per day/per room for maid service
yes tip the limo driver--$5 [?] p/p
this is me can't speak for others

Leave the housekeeper $20 when we check out.(after picking up after 4 kids & 1 husband, leaving a room with unmade beds, wet towels,& full wastebaskets& coming back later to find the good farries have been there is part of the magic of Vegas for me.)We always rent a car & valet park tip $2/$3 .Tip bellman $5/we usually have 3 bags.Tip the girls bringing drinks when we're at the tables or playing slots$1 a drink. When we first started going to Vegas 14 yrs. ago I read in a travel book, In vegas tip everything that walks.

I tip the cocktail waitresses $1 per drink - never forget this one.

I put out a bet for the dealers at about the same time I get another drink. Something like a $1 at blackjack or craps (as a bet) and a "two way hard something" in craps. They seem to like it as a bet because of the chance to multiply it up.

Once per trip I will tip a friendly cashier $1 - you wouldn't believe how much they appreciate that.

I tip the housekeeping $2 per day.

I tip the buffet folks about 10% or a bit less. The buck a person suggested earlier sounds ok, too.

I don't take cabs - it's more flexible and cheaper, I think, to rent a car.

I don't do valet parking and I carry my own bags.

Don't ever forget to tip the cocktail waitress - a buck a drink.

Tip the coctail waitress $1 per drink.
Anyone who carries your bags $1 per bag.
Restaurants, depending on service 15% to 20%.
Housekeeping, it is much better for them in case they don't pool their tips, $2 a day, rather than wait until you leave. If you tip on the last day, the housekeeper on that day may not be the same one that did up your room all week!
Valet parking $2 each time, and if you want them to keep your car close- especially if you will be leaving a big production show the same time as 2000 other people- $5 should assure you are not waiting 1/2 hour for your car. ;)

:) ALWAYS $1 for cocktail waitresses

$1 per person a day maid service

$1 per bag

$5 cabbie

:D If you REALLY want to make someone's day, give $1 to the person who comes around and empties ashtrays & clean around slot machines. I do this quite often and it brings such a great smile to that person. They deserve it after some people who feel it necessary to ash & leave trash in the coin bins!

I truly truly hope all the posters who said they rent cars rather then take taxis are SOBER when they drive their cars. IIRC, drunk driving is the leading cause of pedestrian death on the strip. (which is exactly why I cab around...)

Tips:
Cocktails/bartenders, $1/drink
maid: $2/day (sometimes more, sometimes less)
baggage handler: $1/bag for the guy who drops off the bag, a bit less for the
guy who picks them up
buffet drink server: 10% if the drink service is good, none if it isn't
dealer: a buck or two bet on his behalf, at completely random intervals, based
purely on my mood and how well I'm doing.
Theater usher: $20 if he can put me in a good seat, $0 if it's assigned seating
Guys who open doors: $0
guys who call taxis: $1 sometimes, sometimes not
taxi driver: most taxis I've taken in vegas are frighteningly badly driven, so
usually not much.

I always go to vegas with a couple wads of singles, comes in very handy when you get into a fight with the taxi driver because he almost got you creamed by a delivery truck and you don't want to ask him for change.

Here's how we (my hubby and I) decide how and who to tip:

I save and/or buy $2.00 bills for our trip(much easier then having lots of $1.00 bills)

Cabs: If the driver is friendly and talks to us instead of on his cell phone. We round up the bill and add $4.00.

Housekeeping: We talk to the housekeeper and ask if she's always on the same floor each time..most hotels do that...and leave $2.00 a day. If I really like the ammenities..soap, shampoo, lotion..then I leave a note for Extra with a $5.00 bill.

Baggage Handling: We usually have 3-4 bags so we go with $4.00.

Waitresses: We tip $2.00 if both of us order a drink.

Street Entertainment: We come across them once in a while and we tip them $2-$4. Depending on how good their performance is.

Buffets: $2-$4 depending on if they clear our table or stop by and check on us to see if we need anything.

Tipping, to me, seems to be a personal choice. It sometimes depends on what mood I'm in. If I'm winning in Vegas, then I might tip a little more. If the service in lousy, then they get less. ;)

I'm pretty on par with everyone else....

Cocktail waitress: $1-$2 per drink
Bellman: $1-$2 per bag
Buffet: $1 per person
Restaurant: 15 to 20+% depending on service
Limo Driver: $10 or so
Maid: $3-$5 or so a day. I like to tip daily b/c there maybe one that more housekeeper during your stay depending on how their schedule falls.

$2 per day for housekeeping and daily as it will be someone different perhaps and should be done each day
$5 for storing our 2-3 bags and getting us a cab on check out
$3-4 a cab ride
$1-2 a drink each time we order 1-2 drinks...always non-alcoholic in our case
$1 each for buffet, $2 each for the Paris buffet which was outstanding food and service!
20% at restaurants such as Mon Ami Gabi, Battista's, etc.

Definitely tip maids daily. The difference in Service is huge. I sleep weird hours in Vegas so during the normal cleaning times, my room is always occupied. I usually have to call and request a maid and leave a $5 on the pillow the first time I do that. After doing that, any time I call the rest of the trip they are up there quickly.

I tip in Vegas the same way I do everywhere.

Maid - $5.00/day. You get excellent service
Restaurants - 15-20% of bill excluding sales tax unless service is bad. Then I reduce it.
Buffet - 10%-15% of bill excluding tax.
Taxi - Same as restaurants unless a bad driver. Then I reduce it.
Bell Service - I roll my luggage and haven't had to check it yet. Would probably tip about $5.00 if checking.
Cocktail Service - At least $1.00 per drink. But if I tip $2.00, the waitress comes around much more frequently. I always try to have my money out and ready when she comes back, but one caught me at Flamingo recently when I asked for water and she was carrying extras with her!

I like to be as generous as I can afford with tips. I've worked for tips in the past and know it can be tough never knowing exactly what your income will be. If I get good service, they get a good tip.

Valet, $2

Buffets, $1 per person unless exceptional service, then more according to how we feel at the time. Maybe $5.

Maids, $2 or $3 daily, depending on whether they do something extra for us. Tipped a maid at Harrahs $20 extra once for three days because she gave us exceptional service.

Restaurants, 15%. If service is very good, add $5 or $10.

Drinks in casino, $1 per

Slot attendants, 1% of jackpot win, $1 for fixing a machine problem

We don't use cabs and carry our own bags.

I go to the change machines when I first get in and get a bunch of $1's and $5's so I will have tip money. Have gotten caught without any small bills and it's embarrassing.

In the past we have left the equivalent of $5 a day for Housekeeping when when check out, but I like the hint of tipping daily, and will do that from now on. We're on vacation and they're cleaning up after us and I appreciate that.

Other people (waitresses, etc.) we agree with what's been written.

We always leave the housekeeper 5.00 per day. We get excellent service and extra towels etc. by leaving that much, so it's worth it to us.
1.00 per drink
2.00 per bag
20% at restaurants
10% at buffets
15-20% for taxi drivers unless they try to take us the long way around or are totally unfriendly or rude

I always bring about 50 ones along so I don't run out quite as fast.

I'm curious if everyone tips the bell person that checks the luggage in to the baggage area when your room isn't ready yet. I do this but then tip again when our luggage is brought up to the room. Am I tipping too much? Also, I tend to tip the airport shuttle driver $1 per bag. I noticed many seem surprised by this. Is this abnormal or something? Any "tipping" info is appreciated :o

who bring the luggage up. We have never had occasion to have anyone hold our bags at the bell desk because if the room in not ready yet we just leave the luggage locked in the car. We always tip the shuttle driver who takes us to the rental car lot if he/she helps with our bags. :)

I usually tip $2 for a drink. I think those servers have it pretty tough.
I carry my own bag.
Housekeeping gets something at the end of the trip usually $5.
My other pet peeve is tipping the guy who gets my cab at the hotel. I usually only tip him a dollar.
If the cabfare is $15, Ill give the driver a $5 for a tip.
I know I probably under-tip except for the waitresses.

I tip:
Coctail waitresses - $1.00 per drink (even if just water)
Housekeeping - $5.00 per day. I have it already put into envelopes before I leave home.
Buffets - $2.00 per person
Bell People - $2.00 per bag when delivered to room.
Taxi Caller - $1.00
Sometimes do the $20.00 trick at check-in to try for a better room
Meals - 15 - 20%

You tip according to the service rendered.
Buffet servers, and they are geetting to give less and less service what with self serve drinks popping up, should receive $1.00 - $2.00 per peson.
Regular dining 20%
Bell hops $1.50 per bag. More for advice and items brought to the room. We always slip an outdoor beelman $10.00 each trip (same guy every trip) and he has given us many, many, many tips for more valuable than the $10.00.
Room Servers $5.00 per day on the pillow and I assure you great service.
Valet parking is $2.00 per stop. Exception is home base where you should establish who you are and again they will take great care of you and great care of your car. ALWAYS use valet parking, ALWAYS. You save lots of walking and your car is always in a secure area.
Cocktail servers $1.00 per drink
Slot Attendants always like a $5.00 bill for good service.
We never use cabs so I can't tell you anything but if ou get good service then tip well.
You are in Vegas, a city where money just doesn't talk, it screams.
You get what you pay for.We always upgrade seating at shows, even shows with set sitting. They move us to No Show seats 10 minutes prior to showtime.
Always Enjoy and remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and that includes your money.
