I work in a Salon where four of us ladies are going to the Symposium and stay at the MB... never stayed there before, and I understand there will be a lot of walking to and from the classes and events in the evenings. Any suggestions on eating would be appreciated. Nothing fancy, just really good, reasonably priced food... we won't have a lot of time between classes to eat leasurely.

thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,+

Chris, you may want to post this in Restaurant Suggestions and Advice. More people read that than this thread. You can ask Steve to move it or just set up a new post there.

First of all, a lot of walking is an understatement!

Secondly, you're in luck. In the south convention center of Mandalay Bay, there is a food court where you can find something to eat and you will get it quickly. Inexpensive? Well, depends upon your frame of reference. Not the cheapest prices I've ever seen but they're close and, I think, less expensive than most of the restaurants. The convention center there is so big that, by the time you hike all the way back into the casino, you've used up most of your break time.

However, if you walk fast, you can get something to eat at Red, White and Blue and you can get it to go.

Border Grill is conveniently located right as you pass between the north convention center and the south convention center but I don't know how quickly you'd be served and I don't think they had anything real inexpensive on the menu. The good news is: They have coupons on restaurant.com. Wait for a sale (right now, they're 50% off but, toward the end of the month, you should be able to do a little better). That might be nice for a dinner or something.

Another option: MB has a noodle shop. Lately I have become a big fan of those. If it's anything like the ones at Venetian or Bellagio, the service is swift and you get a lot of food. I felt the prices were very reasonable at the other places so I would imagine that this one is priced competitively.

There's also a convenience type store that you will see on your way into the convention center and it's right by the food court. They sell snacky treats and, believe me, that was my breakfast on more than one occasion.

Again, it just depends upon how much time you have an how much walking you want to do.

I'm sure others will come up with really excellent suggestions for dining at MB but this should get you through the hectic days between classes.

thanks so much, that was very helpful, as I didn't have any idea where the convention center was as oopposed to the Casino.......I'm not looking for cheap... been to Vegas quite a bit... just not break the bank lunches.........LOL

Great info... we all will apprecitate it....
