We usually go in January for the NFL playoffs. This will be our 9th trip (but not necessary in a January) We didn't go this past January seemed prices were too high and the last time we went the food prices were ridculous while quaility has gone down dramatically. Plus, we've seen almost every show and attraction and there was really nothing else to see or do. Can't gamble the whole time.

However, we got a really great deal at the IP for January, 09. This will be our second stay and I love their Spa. Disappointed to find out that most of the CS shows are on break the weekend we are going. I found a special for KA and was actually going to break down and see it. Not now.

We plan on returning to Bally's for their Sterling Brunch and the Effiel Tower Restuarant. We usually spend most of the day time in Harrah's Keno lounge watching the football games.

Looking forward to returning and hoping we actually win something this time.

Have fun, Fellow Texans. Last time we went in January it snowed and it was COLD.

Yeah, when we went in January 07 it was very cold. The waterfall at the Tropicana was frozen. Very pretty though. In January 06 the weather during the day was actually nice, but at night it got much colder. Hoping it will be about the same this trip.

I lived in the Dallas area for 13 years. Was glad to come home. :)

I already booked our January trip at $104 p/p on Southwest and then I get a 50% off e-mail and the flights went down to $70 p/p. The only problem is, they only give a credit for a future flight on SW within the next year and we have no plans on flying them again this year. We're going to the Caribbean instead. So just had to leave it as is. It pays to wait sometimes.

I'd take the credit anyway. I think you can book a flight for someone else and apply your credit at that time. They can just reimburse you. Why don't you try calling Southwest's toll free number and asking?
