I brought my daughter to LV for her 21st birthday and then took my son at 21after he got home alive from Iraq. My next project was my step-daughter, who turned 40 last month.
Next thing I knew, my husband, step-daughter, her husband, and I were booked and then my husband's cousin and wife, her sister, and assorted neighbors and friends decided to come too! They'll be at the Bellagio.
The four of us were originally going to stay at the Venetian, my favorite place of my eight previous trips, but my step-daughter, a realtor, couldn't afford it. So I booked two rooms at the Flamingo for $45 each for two nights, and then her big surprise is that we're moving to the V for two nights because I got a $119 rate. Of course we'll cover the difference for her, but since she grew up in Europe, I couldn't resist us staying there.
Having someone there for a first time will be lots of fun. I always rent a car, and while I'm not anal enough to make an actual schedule, I know exactly where we HAVE to go, SHOULD go, and DON'T NEED to go. A few hours in Henderson, a few more at the Orleans, an evening downtown, one dusk on top of the Stratosphere, at least two nights walking the Strip, Mamma Mia our first night, Bellagio champagne brunch our first day, Hash House a Go Go for one breakfast and one lunch (restaurant.com coupons in hand), and use as many of the ACG coupons as possible!
Earlier I was a slot and roulette fanatic. Now knowing the error of my ways - and the lousy odds - I plan to dedicate more time to blackjack while avoiding the 6-5 ripoff.
Most importantly, my step-daughter and I will ditch the men for at least one evening so we can REALLY have fun!
I plan to make the meet at the Orleans on 12/16 as well.
Now, if United stops changing our tickets every time I turn around, we might actually get there!!!
