I saw the Venetian show this past weekend. I had seen the Luxor show three times in the past few years.

The new show is amazing!
The theatre does have a larger seating capacity, but definitely seems more intimate than at the Luxor. The action in the first half of the show is very similar to that of the Luxor except that it all happens much closer to the audience. The first 8 rows or so are 'poncho' rows meaning your should wear the plastic poncho that is provided. Take my advice, at this show you really do need to wear it!

The last half of the show adds some new material and reworks and updates others. This is when the new stage and technology really shine. It was jaw dropping! Very well done. The stage set-up really adds some focus on the band which really provides an integral backing to the whole show.

The music, humour and visuals to this show have made it one of my top shows to see. In case you can't tell, I love it!

Like you, I'm a big fan, seen it lots of times at LUXOR, and (now) after
you're review, I'm all the more siked up to see it in thirtyeight days!
The new Showroom, lighting, and sound system are suppose to be
killer....YES? I booked early and had my pick of the seats...I chose
the 10th row/center for my first experience in the new theatre.

Saw them CT land ( Oakdale) few yrs back and they were incredible.

jrinct1 - the show you likely saw was the Complex tour. It was a fabulous show, wasn't it? The rumor is that that tour may be heading out again btw.
The Complex is also available on DVD and is a great way to get a "feel" for what BMG is. A very small portion of material from that tour is in the Venetian show as well.

The Venetian show is the big budget production though with the great sound system, lighting, lobby, etc. It looks like the Venetian opened the purse up for the group to do it up right! This one is not like the smaller venues they use (Boston, Chicago, NY) although some of the material is in the Toronto show (saw that one in Aug).

I dunno, the Venetian show just really sticks in my head, even a week later. I think the audience, even those who weren't familiar with BMG, really got into it and that about says it all for me.

Also a reminder for anyone who has never been: bring a camera along as you will be able to take pictures with the Blue Men and band in the lobby after the show. And for those who are familiar with the group, be sure to check out the artwork on the walls, particularly around the bar area - good for a grin or three!

What is the best way to get good seats to BMG? Is there a website?

Greg,when I saw BMG a few years ago at the Luxor,they had a rock band in each corner of the stage up in the air. They were GREAT! Do they still have the band at the new show? Thanks:cool:

I'd say the live band will still be there...no reason to cut them out.

Yep, the band is definitely still there... the new stage features them a lot more, in fact! These guys kick serious butt!
(as an fyi - there are 7 band members not including the blue men - more than at any other BMG venues)

Mid center are good seats (I think it's referred to as section 2) - seats 32ish are around the middle. Rows J or K would be super. All the seats in the new theatre are good though. If you want to be really close and have a truly unique experience - try row C or so. Just wear the poncho!
