Okay, two subjects here (photos taken by me 3 hours ago)...

http://s371.photobucket.com/albums/oo157/yuma3344_album/Nov1_08/

First is CIRCUS CIRCUS... specifically the sign. Some people have wondered what is the status of the sign!?!?! I dont have an asnwer for you. I dont know if they are changing the marquee, or just going to take the whole thing down.

Speaking of signage... here are a few snaps of the CITY CENTER. These were taken from Dean Martin Drive. It's big, it's a lot of glass. It's coming along. And, some signage is now up. Dont know what else to say.

Nice pictures. It is amazing how much they have gotten done on that since I was there in September. That thing is huge.

Wow, it sure looks like they're dismantling CC the sign...

Nice photos, Matthew, and it blows my mind you took them a little over 3 hours ago. We haven't been in LV in almost 4 months & I am feeling "homesick". It's so good that you & jane keep us updated.

Thanks.. i do my best. I know i was going to be within a few blocks of CC -- so i took the snaps knowing someone was inquiring about the CC SIGN.

I could take my cam with me on my daily 'route' & photograph the auto accidents that i see. But, i would need a 64mb memory card every two days.

Looks like they are replacing the pixel screen on the CC sign. Might make it more a video type of screen, more modern, sort of like the T.I. sign.
Will have to wait and see.

When will the CC sign work be completed? Not that CC is a place I tend to visit or play but it is LV.

Thanks Nancy! However, my camera is out of order right now. I do have some very good pics that I think a lot of folks would be interested in. Next day off, I'll figure out how to get them posted. We've got the instructions somewhere on this forum. I remember seeing them!

I'm not trying to make a sales pitch, but if you have a CVS in your town with a full service photo dept., they have the ability to make a home movie (DVD) out of your pics. I've done more than a dozen of these already, and each one is better than the last. They are best when you have videos too.

Thanks Matthew! I hope they are indeed simply replacing the CC sign with an LED one and not taking it away altogether. As you know I'm not a huge fan of CC but it's where I stayed on my first trip to vegas so it holds a special memory in my heart.

If you have a relatively new Windows computer you can do that by yourself!! I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop (with Vista) that is a little over a year old and it came with Windows Movie Maker - it is very VERY easy to use - you just drag the photos into the little film strip and make a movie - you can even add any music you want, as well as effects! Then you just save it and burn it in your dvd drive. A lot of people probably have this on their computers and have no idea - it is a way to do it anytime you want without paying CVS every time you want to make a Vegas photo dvd...
