There are restaurants with views, and then there are restaurants with oh-wow-did-you-see-that views. The Eiffel Tower at Paris falls into the latter category. Eleven stories up, accessible only by a glass-walled triangular elevator, this fine-dining perch offers the perfect vantage point for watching the fountains dance across the street at Bellagio. All the best tables are two- seaters, making the Eiffel Tower the ideal spot for a romantic meal. Table 56 is particularly popular and, according to staff, has been the setting for more than one marriage proposal. Chef Jean Joho's creations blend traditional French cuisine with a few creative twists, such as fresh herb-crusted Pacific snapper, grilled salmon, double-cut bone-in rib-eye, lobster Thermion, a tournedos Rossini with truffle sauce or a balloting of boneless quail. Prices are loftier than the setting; a meal in the actual Eiffel Tower could be had at a fraction of the cost.
