I was wondering which Vegas Cirque du Soleil shows are your favorites? I have seen Mystere and Zumanity, and I enjoyed Mystere more. My fiancee hasn't seen any Cirque shows as of yet, and I would like to take her to one on our next trip there. I imagine every Cirque show is worth the money, but I was wondering which ones you would recommend as "must see" above all others. Thanks in advance!

I have seen all of the CDS shows in Vegas. My favorite is "LOVE". Second favorite would be "Mystere". You are going to get as many different opinions as there are people on this board. I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the CDS shows though.

Let me put it this way - what does she like? What kind of things interest her?

In my family, it's like this. My dil and I are the only ones who have seen any Cirque shows. She and I went to see to KA and I have seen Mystere. She was so enthralled with KA that she told me 'shhhhhh' when I made a comment about the show to her - to her mother-in-law???lol
If I were dragging(I mean taking) my husband to one, it would be KA. If I could keep him chained to his seat thru the first half, his eyes would bug out during all the action during the second - then walk out and say 'that was okay, how much did it cost?'

My sons would enjoy Mystere and KA. Mystere, because they are musically inclined and they would appreciate the grace of the performers and how the music is so well co-ordinated with the action in the arena. KA, because of the action and the music.

My daughter, well, I have tried several times to get her to Mystere and she isn't interested. But she really wants to see LOVE because of the Beatles music. So it is on our agenda for next mom/daughter visit.
She also has expressed an interest in seeing Zumanity sometime when she goes to Vegas with girlfriends.

I haven't seen O and can't really comment - but unless you are really into aquatics, IMO, it could be boring.

So I recommend that you check out your fiancee's preferences in entertainment. Then look thru the reviews on the board and make a choice. There's a Cirque for everybody.

Although Mystere is still my favorite - if you have already seen it "O" is also super. I really loved both of them.

I've seen three of the Vegas Cirque shows. I would go back to see either KA or LOVE.

Although there were things about it I liked, I have no desire to see ZUMANITY a second time.

Of the two I haven't seen, Mystere interests me more than O.

I agree with Del...ask HER what she wants to see.
You probably have a basic understanding of all the Shows...
fill her in best you can, look at all the websites for pics etc.
and...BOOK IT WELL IN ADVANCE (3 mo.) FOR THE BEST SEATS.
Once you decide, I'll have some seating suggestions for ya if
you need any. Don't book your tics on line...Call the Box Office.

But if I could, it would probably be Love, as I'm still a Beatles fan!

I really enjoyed LOVE but I would pick KA as my favorite so far. The atmosphere in the theater along with the best stage set up that I have ever seen made this a great time for me.

I have tickets to see both Mystere and Zumanity in a few weeks so KA could have some competition.

We have seen Mystere, O, and Love. All three were excellent views and time well spent. Have seen Mystere three times, so must be our favorite. Plan on another visit to Love on next visit (Sept.).

I broke down and saw LOVE just because I grew up with the Beatles.
I say "broke down" because those clown faces in the other shows kept me away. I couldn't walk in the gift stores without freak'n!
None-the-less, I enjoyed the music and was amazed at the people on rubber bands...but I kept looking for the exit when the performers strolled into the audience.
Didn't sleep for a few nights afterwards either. :o

I would have to say that there is a tie between the original, Mystere' and Ka'
Mystere's strength and agility is jaw dropping action.
Ka's staging is unbelievable. I love when the stage is flipped and it looks as if you looking down on the action. Simply amazing.
I've sat in the upper bowl, middle bowl and front row at Mystere' and each had a different viewing of the action that takes place not just on the stage
in front of you. If it's your first time I would say sit in the upper bowl to view everything that is happening around you. PS there is NO bad seat in the house.
For Ka' I have sat in the second row from the stage and the last row in the lower section. The second row seating was IN YOUR FACE action. It was like you were part of the action that was taking place on the stage. Sitting back I got a different feel for the overhead view.

My favorite show is O. But I haven't seen KA yet which I think will be really cool.
In my new show, I take a trip down Las Vegas blvd and drop by some of the shows with dedications and/or spoofs. For the Cirque shows, I am working on a parody for the Love show.

Set to the Tune 'All you need is Love' by the Beatles, it goes like this so far...any feedback is welcomed...

"There’s Love and it’s another show, Cirque du soleil don’t you know,
Nothing you do cause we’ll own all the strip in time. It’s easy
All you need is dough…
To come and see our shows
You’ll need lots of dough , oh,
Cirque do soleil you know "

There's video up now of the Red Skelton Impersonator that will be opening my show (starting Monday Aug 18th, 1 block from the Wynn )

All the best,

Seating is limited, reserve before you get to Vegas.

I agree and I would add "O" for staging and the diversity of the performers who have to dive and perform in the water as well as on the stage.

O !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"O" The beauty and skill of the divers is incredible. The acrobats are unbelievable. And the clowns were funny. They didn't scare me one bit. But the creepy lookin hunch back guy did. I'm still not sure what his purpose was. They did a special on the news last night where they stated nearly 2 dozen cirque performers are former olympians. Most of them are in "O".
As far as total beauty and performance, for me it's "O"!

"Love" comes in a close 2nd. Full of surprises, special effects, and of course, Beatles' music.

Mystere was good, but I only saw the first 1/3 of it before getting sick. I was in the front row, and the rising and falling stage made me dizzy. I plan to go back again someday, but I won't get front row seats.

Ka is on my list of things to do. Especially after Steve and MisterKeno raved about it. So is La Reve.

I wanted to see Zumanity before it opened, but after the reviews, and exposure of it's content, that one's a big "NO" for me.

Mystere and O.

We went to Ka and found it boring. I've read such good things about Ka in these forums, I think our problem was our seats, about 10 rows back on the far left. We saw no "amazing effects" of the moving stage. What we saw was the lifiting mechanism and a side view of the stage.

Ka and O interest me so I will see them sometime.

I've seen Ka' and Mystere. By FAR Ka' was better. But, if you like Beatles music, LOVE is the one to see. But for my money, Ka' is the greatest performance I've ever seen.

We have attended only 2-Love and KA. They were both excellent but I would like to see Love again. If you are not familiar (and lived through) the earlier Beatles music it may not have the same effect on you as it did on us. We were in one of the uppermost sections and saw everything that was happening at once-would prefer to sit up there again. We had free tickets to Mystere back in 1997 and decided not to go... but we only had 2 days and there was so much to see and do :)

I've seen both Mystere and LOVE and.......I enjoyed Mystere a bit more. It blew me away. It was the first Cirque show I saw and it ranks as my favorite Vegas show (so far). KA is on the agenda for our next trip out in March '09.

Everyone's favorite Cirque show is the first one they saw. :)

For me, that would be Mystere. Absolutely amazing. Ka is a very, very close second. I almost fell asleep in "O", mainly because you can only go "oohh...ahhh....oohhh..." so many times when someone dives into the pool. "O" simply didn't do it for me. I know that a lot of people love it, but I think Mystere and Ka are so much better.

There are incredible aerial acrobatics, fire twirlers, contortionists, and even a bit of humor--even though there is no spoken word.

We have seen Mystere twice ,"O" once and LOVE once. I can't decide which I liked better Mystere or "O". I do know one thing, and that is we did not like LOVE at all. We were never so disappointed as we were when we went to that show. Yes, the Beatles and their music are beyond awesome. We are huge fans. But, I just kept waiting for something to happen in that show and it never did.
I thought the very opening was very good but from then on BORING!! It was little more than people running on and off stage dancing and jumping around. I expect a little more from Cirque than roller skaters and people bouncing of trampolines. If one more person flew in over head I was ready to slit my throat.
I would see Mystere or "O" again and would like to see KA.

My DH and I have seen Mystere, KA and LOVE. DH still likes Mystere best. I enjoyed them all but want to see Le Reve and O before repeating any. Zumanity doesn't interest either of us at all. I would see Mystere and LOVE again anytime. I like the Beatles, but they aren't my favorite. However, I love music and the music was tremendous in LOVE--it was the main focus. If you hate the Beatles, you won't like LOVE. Mystere is fascinating and has a little bit of everything---music, comedy, acrobatics, etc. I think Mystere is a good Cirque to see first.

I couldnt agree more!!! There was sooo much down time. The music was great (and from my era), but I kept waiting for some action. LOVE is the only Las Vegas Cirque show Ive seen. I dont go to Vegas for shows - Im surprised they dragged me from the casino to make the show.

Efren112 said it best:
Everyone's favorite Cirque show is the first one they saw.
My first CDS show was La Nouba - very action packed - like a circus set to opera music. Very little down time. The sequences enabled one act to be set up below while being entertained by the current act.

My favorite is really toss-up between KA and Love...action vs music. I would see them both again in a heartbeat. Mystere is wonderful as the music and drum beats really invade your senses. I was recently dragged to "O" for a second time and it was no better than when I saw it 4 years ago, to me it is VERY boring.

I have only attempted to see Mystere and O. I say attempted because I did not last more than 15 minutes when I left and received refunds. O performed stunts I saw on the Ed Sullivan Show 40 years ago and the music was making my head pound.

There are no Headliners in Las Vegas any more. The first time I went to Vegas I saw The Rat Pack, Julie Andrews and Ann Margret nothing will ever top that weekend.

Short and Sweet:

I have never seen one. Everybody at work says I need to see "O" next time I go to Vegas. But by reading most replys below it seem most "LOVE" is pretty good, but I have never been a real Beatles Fan. I will read all the postings and see a show next time I am in Vegas which should be in November or early December.

I have seen quite a few shows and I liked The Rat Pack, Mamma Mia and a Classic Vegas Show was JUBILEE at Bally's.

The WORST show and biggest waste of MONEY was

“Folies Bergere” is the quintessential Las Vegas show that will bore you to death and will leave stunned and confused and mad as heck that you wasted money on a show that should have been closed 8 years ago.

Sounds like Mystere is the favorite. Like one post, I'm waiting for Criss Angel's 'Believe' show at Luxor. Wouldn't miss that at any cost. This show will be jaw dropping. Different from any Cirque show. He's age 40, I'm 60, yet I find his TV show "Mindfreak" performances unbelievable! Viva

I have seen them all except Zumanity, and have to say that "O" is still my absolute favorite. It's like being part of a painting, visually striking and ethereal.

Ka is excellent as well.

Mystere is probably my least favorite, it is really more circus like, and that whole thing with the baby just does nothing for me.

Love is great if you really want to groove to some Beatles music, it has a very happy, light feel to it.

The funny thing with "O" is it seems to be a love it or hate it sort of thing. Alot of people don't care for it, but again, it's my absolute favorite.

I've liked Mystere enough to see it a couple of times....once was enough for O...it seemed to be darker in content than Mystere. I enjoyed LeReve, even though it isn't technically a Cirque production. I want to see Ka and Love, probably will catch one of them next Vegas trip; I doubt that I will see Zumanity and don't particularly want to see Criss Angel either.

We have seen Ka, Love, Mystere and O. I actually nodded off a couple of times in O. My personal favorate is Mystere, but, Ka would be a close second. Love is a good show, but, I think once is enough. By all means call the box office to book your tickets approx. three months in advance. I would first go online and download a seating chart before calling.

I watch CDS for the skill level and music. For me Mystere is my fav with KA coming in second. I loved the stuff they did in Mystere and the beautiful music. KA also had great music along with a strong story and amazing stage. I've seen KA twice and plan to see Mystere again.

Other CDS shows I've seen are O, Quidam and Dralion. Though not all of them are Vegas shows, they have the usual CDS skill I expect. Now this leads to Love...

I saw Love but was very disappointed. The music is amazing, but you NEED to be a Beatles fan. I felt the skill level was the lowest I have ever seen in a CDS show. In fact is was just people bouncing around doing...stuff. Nothing amazing, just freaking boring. I felt like I was watching a live action music video.

I have seen Mystere, O, Love, and Ka. Mystere and Ka are my favorites. The stage and action in Ka are unbelievable. However, the acts in Mystere are also unbelievable. I liked the Beatles music in Love but when comparing the actual show, it is not on my "must see again" list. O was my least favorite. How many ways can you dive into the water?

Everyone comments on the Beatles music in LOVE. It is great but I don't go to a a cirque show for the music I go for the unbelievable acts. And LOVE just did not have that. If you are a Beatles fan go see The Fab Four next time your in Vegas. We saw them at The Hilton and they put on a Fabulous show and ,of course, it was all Beatles.

Depends on what is most important to you

for best music but so so stunts LOVE
for best stunts MYSTERE
for best bang for the buck MYSTERE
for biggest wow factor O

Keep in mind that O is the shortest of the shows (still a great show). Love is a great Beatles show but is not a great CDS. Never been to KA, skip Zumanity is the weakest of the shows.

I agree with previous posts. If you like Beatles' music, you will "Love" this show. I however, was a bit confused. After the initial curtain drop, and big intro, I was wondering when the next bit of excitement was going to happen. It just wasn't there. There were very dark scenes from the darkest times in London that confused me, and I wondered where the entertainment value was. The other "dancing" and "stunts" were rather boring as well. Some of the lighting effects were spectacular, but overall, I'd only give this show a "C". Not something I'd ever pay $100+ for again.

On the other hand, "O" is well worth my $100+. No matter how many times I see it. I see new things in it every time I go, and the diving is spectacular! How could anyone fall asleep at this show?

For a minute there I thought you were dsescribing KA. If you wanted to slit your throat during Love, you should avoid KA at all costs. That's all it was -- people flying around on ropes and pulleys, fake sword fighting, running around back and forth, and a girl who did baton work for about 10 minutes. ZZZZZZZZ You could see that in many high school marching bands! The best thing in KA were these guys running on huge hamster like treadmills without ropes. The rest of it was like, so what?

I have only attempted to see Mystere and O. I say attempted because I did not last more than 15 minutes when I left and received refunds. O performed stunts I saw on the Ed Sullivan Show 40 years ago and the music was making my head pound.

I agree with you 100%. Give me a headliner any day of the week -- that's true entertainment. A little bit of dialog with the audience would be nice too. Hanging from the rafters? Boring...

I've been a Cirque fan since before they came to Vegas. As each show arrived, it's been my favorite until the next came. Right now, I'm in LOVE with LOVE and I can't see it enough. When recommending a Cirque show to friends, I feel KA is a better show than O. As a Beatles fan AND a Cirque fan, what more could you ask for?

Mystere is fantastic, still. O is probably my least favorite. Zumanity is an animal all to itself but of equal caliber as long as you understand what it's about.

I'm likely to skip the Cris Angel Cirque show just because I'm not a big fan of his. I like them all but LOVE and Ka are my favorites.

Cheers!
