First off, JERSEY BOYS is a wonderful evening of great musical theatre, but it isn't
always upbeat or your sweet, MAMMA MIA, goodtime fun type of musical.
There was a lot of drama Tommy DeVito, Nick Massi, Bob Gaudio, and Frankie Vali
had to go through...both before and after their brief life in the spotlight.

JERSEY BOYS is a fast paced musical-documentary with both joyful and somber molments.
You'll leave with a smile and humming the songs, but will also have traveled the ups and
downs with Frankie Vali and The Four Seasons.

I was really impressed with how quickly they move you through time, yet deliver most of all
the important info and background you need to make the play work.

Using a real simple stage set...chain link fence and scaffolding, they transform different locations
and moods with the drop of a neon sign, a simple props, background lighting and silhouettes...its
all very effective.

'Sheri' was the 1st song that gave me my 'memory goose bumps' and a scene where you watch
them from behind...as they appear on the Ed Sullivan Show with flashbulbs going off in your eyes
from the audience out in front of 'em...great scene, very effective!

The theatre is real good, the sound and music are great and you're gonna hear lots of songs:

OH, WHAT A NIGHT, SILHOUETTES, YOU'RE THE APPLE OF MY EYE, I CAN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING
BUT LOVE, EARTH ANGEL, SUNDAY KIND OF LOVE, MY MOTHERS EYES, I GO APE, CRY FOR ME,
(WHO WEARS) SHORT SHORTS, I STILL CARE, TRANCE, SHERRY, BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY,
WALK LIKE A MAN, MY BOYFRIEND'S BACK, MY EYES ADORED YOU, DAWN, BIG MAN IN TOWN,
BEGGIN, STAY, LET'S HANG ON, BYE BYE BABY, C mon MARIANNE, CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU,
WORKIN MY WAY BACK TO YOU, FALLEN ANGEL, RAG DOLL, WHO LOVES YOU...(and a few more, lol)

The Show is a little over 2 hours. The 8 minute intermission is just long enough to stand up and
stretch your legs...jog up and back if you need to use the restroom.

THEATRE NAVIGATION:
If you're mobility challenged, you might want to choose seats in the upper sections. Theres lots
of stairs...
You'll climb stairs from lobby to theatre level, then down again if you're in SECTIONS 2,1,3.
These stairs seemed odd to me. The 'drop' of each step is deeper than other showroom stairs
and the handrail is unique also...
Individual hand bars set by each row of seats instead of one continuous, long railing down the
middle.

AFTER THE SHOW...GETTING OUT OF THE THEATRE:
Theres quite the little traffic jam when you get back to the stairs that go back down to the lobby.
Everyone seems to converge at the top by the stairs in the same area. You shuffle your way to
the stairs and funnel down. (i didn't care for that...)

VALET AND CABS:
The Valet pick up is out the Palazzo's front doors where you came in.
If you'll need a Taxi, take the escalator DOWN before the front doors...cabs are a floor below.

FRANKIE VALI NOTE:
Rick Faugno ( the Vali I saw...) does the first Show and Joseph Leo Bwarie does the 10pm.

You can still catch JERSERY BOYS in other cities and for a better ticket prices too BUT...
theres something about seeing the Show in Vegas that makes it more exciting...for me at least
and it's a great evening of entertainment!
I had SECTION 2, ROW L, SEAT 20 (aisle seat)

you got into a lot more detail than I did, when I wrote about it. The Ed Sullivan moment was a fantastic effect, and possibly the high point of the show outside of the music. Glad you got to see it, and I can't wait until my parents get out here to check it out. They'll love it more than I did!

I've never seen a drum set move across a stage so quickly, while the drummer was playing it. I'd like to get backstage and see how the "staircase" under the stage works too.

Yeah, its pretty dark in places...I didn't expect that. As I mentioned,
its not a big happy type play. The music pulls you back into the
positive side and it ends up on 'more or less' a positive note but theres
some real rough times they go through.
(and I apologise for spelling Sherry,Sheri and apolgize apolgise)

I saw this show last night. Let me say I was never a Four Seasons fan and after seeing the show - I'm still not - BUT if somebody says, "go with me to see Jersey Boys" - I'm there again. It was great - no, not just great, it was magnificient.

Frankie Valli was played by Dominic Scaglione Jr., who apparently had recently joined the cast. He was superb. And Jerry Kushnier (who played Tommy DeVito) was out of this world. At the end when everybody came out to take a bow, he got as much(if not more) applause as Scaglione.

During the intermission (I was sitting on the aisle)one of the ushers came by and chatted with me for a few minutes and she said that every performance had been A-1. Everyone had been amazed at how the performers had been able to carry off the duplication of the Four Season voices night after night.

And it was music, music, music. And like Greg, Sherry was the first song that really got to me. But I didn't just get goose bumps - I'm glad I wasn't standing up because I think my whole body turned to jello. They came out and blew the doors off.

If you've been debating about whether or not to go see it - debate no more - it's well worth the ticket price.

Thanks Greg,

I have the Original Broadway Cast Recording. I love the music and have always wanted to see it on Broadway. A little bit pricy for my budget.
