Howdy,
Looking for info on country concerts etc for the NFR week in Dec.
Has anyone attended during this time? Does anyone know where I can locate the most info?

My husband and I always go to Vegas in Dec for our birthdays but don't attend the NFR. However as the time gets closer you will find tons of info on Vegas.com as to the concerts an other going's on during the Rodeo. Good luck and have fun!! I just love checking out all the men in Wranglers and Stetsons!! Long live cowboys!! ;)

Cowboys....great to look at, horrendous to have to deal to. Most often they are rude, and get irate when told they cant chew and spit at the table. I ALWAYS take vacation time around the NFR for that reason.

Kathi, seeing as you work there you have certainly met more cowboys during NRF than I have. What kind of work do you do?

As a visitor 2 years ago during NRF I kept running into really polite cowboys and their families. I was not in Vegas for the NRF it just worked out that way. I got a lot of hat tipping and holding doors and holding elevators from the tight jeans fellows. And most that I saw seemed to be with family members. Maybe I just wasn;t hanging out where the rude spitting cowboys were going.

I enjoyed being there at that time (in addition to the GREAT cheap rates for hotels)

Kathi, I'm not denying that you have dealt to some rude cowboys, but last year when we stayed at the GN during the rodeo, every time we sat down at a BJ table I encountered some of the nicest men I have ever met. As Kestral wrote they hold door open for the ladies and smile and nod (sometimes even tip their Stetsons) as they walk by. I even had a few buy me drinks at the bar!! I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with them. Granted they can get a little rowdy when they drink a little!! LOL! But that's half the fun of Vegas!!! :p

We will be in Vegas during the NFR. Does anyone know how we could get tickets at this late date? Thanks.

Well, Im sure there are a lot of very nice cowboys, and their families around....just maybe the 6 seats at my table arent usually filled with them. I realize losing money and such makes a cowboy irate, but rules are rules, and they usually dont like being reminded of the rules. Maybe this year, on my vacation time that I so hurriedly put in at the very first opportunity, Ill go out on the strip and see if I can run into some of the nice cowboys and their families...but then that would mean going out TO the strip....not something I do on my time off....eh...maybe not. :)

most of the hotels have something happening during that time. lots of country music, etc. a few years ago, the suncoast cocktails waitresses were not in those cheesie thong/bustier outfits and instead wore jeans, boots and shirts during rodeo week. a great change, i thought. as a woman, i don't have much need for a waitress whose butt crack is practically in my face when i am sitting at a machine. wonder when they will start having guys in speedos serve beverages to women? just kidding.

you might check out specific hotel websites. or better yet, check out the nfr site.

enjoy. andrea from las vegas
