Has anyone stayed at this timeshare on the south end of strip across from South Point Casino? We are going in June.

Joe:)

My wife and I toured the place. They are very nice, looked very comfortable too. I think you will have a great stay there. Have fun and win a jackpot.

I have a friend who went with her daughter and the daughter's friend and they LOVED it.

They always used the South Point free shuttles to get to and from the strip and when they took tours, the buses picked them up there as well. They stayed a week and were very pleased.

We stayed there 2 years ago & absolutely loved it! The pools are great, the rooms are great, & there are shuttles about twice an hour. The suites have full kitchens, plus there are grills in the pool area. The South Point is really nice too! My brothers-in-law & sis-in-law stayed there too & we all agreed it's so much more comfortable than the average strip hotel, & much cheaper!

So how do you get to stay there if you don't have a timeshare?

depending on what unit you get to stay in, looks like they are putting up a new tower or an addition of some type outside the jasmine towers at the Grandview, so there is a bit of construction noise ( especially when they first start up all the machines at 7am)

This place almost appears to be an extension off of South Point, thats how close together they are. It might be a 2 minute walk up your driveway before you can quickly cross a very quiet sidestreet and into South Point.

There a free shuttle to the airport every 45 minutes from South Point and also a fee shuttle to Mandalay Bay every 45 minutes that runs until approx 1am.

So how do you get to stay there if you don't have a timeshare?

You should be able to book right on their website, or even Expedia or something similar. It'll cost you more than if you owned a timeshare, but it's definitely nice to have washer, dryer & full kitchen!

I've not used Grandview but I used to stay at Jockey Club preconstruction and have stayed at Polo Towers.

I love using a timeshare condo on the strip. I've had 1 and 2 bedrooms.

For anyone using a timeshare the best tip I can give you is https://shop.albertsons.com/eCommerceWeb/LandingPageAction.do?action=zipCheck

It's a grocery store in LV that delivers. They give you money off your 1st order. There is a small delivery charge but they deliver 7 days a week. I don't like renting a car in LV so this works great. I get breakfast items, salad fixings, cocktail mixes, fruit etc.

They deliver anything that is in the store even alcohol. The price is the same as what is in the store. Once I place the order I keep reviewing the sale ads. It would be great for Grandview since they have grills (steak, shrimp etc.).

We own a TS in Florida and once the kids grew up I started to trade it for LV. Using this year's week for a gift. Son getting married and they are using my week for their honeymoon.

That's just ridiculous! Is it impossible for these people to say no?! We've gone on timeshare presentations in the past, always said no when we knew we weren't ready to buy, then when we were ready, we worked out a reasonable mortgage agreement. Of course it's a timeshare property, so you probably will be approached by salespeople; just say no!

Interesting thread but what does this have to do with Newsletter Views and Comments? Probably belongs under Hotels?

Hey Jackpotjoe. How was your stay at Grandview? Any tips? What is travel time to strip? Any grocery stores near by? Thanks.

Greg

To answer my question, as we just returned from a week at Grandview Resort.
There is a full size/24 hour grocery store, Food 4 Less (Kroger grocery) located 1.5 miles north of Grandview on Las Vegas Blvd. (the Strip). Very convienent.

Tips:
A rental car is a must. But, there is a entrance/exit ramp right there at South Point Casino on to I-15, making it easy to get to just about anywhere.

Walking over to South Point Casino is very quick. It took me 4 minutes from casino door to my unit. South Point Casino is a full service casino with low minimum table games, good pay schedule video poker, lots of slots, bingo room, eight restaurants, many bars, a large sports book, a showroom, and a movie theater.

Parking was a problem late at night as most units were full and everyone were back in by midnight and we always returned after that time. So, may have to park about a block or two away from our unit.

In general, we really enjoyed staying at Grandview Resort. The units were plush and large. We don't own there; but, we would not rule Grandview out in the future, as we always rent a car. Good luck.

Greg, the other one.

After reading the stated link I thought that I smelled a rat (the artical writer not Jimmy). Being a timeshare owner I am familiar with RCI and the fact that they are an exchange company not a property owner. So wondering if I was wrong I checked out Grandview which is part of the Vacation Village group and are owned by The Berkley Group. So even the most basic if info in this link is wrong. Are timeshare sales high pressure, sure I sat through 5 of them before I found the company that was the right fit for my family. However at no point were any of them unprofessional. Also in every case we were given what was promised to us.

well I read the story and I do not smell a rat - I think the person who wrote it is just clueless. She probably mixed up RCI with the company that owns the Grandview - and she is blaming the timeshare company for her own lack of willpower. No one put a gun to her head - she caved in and bought it of her own free will. Yes those people are high pressure but there is a universal word that you have the freedom to repeat over and over, and that word is "NO". She is a fool and if she bought the timeshare she has no one to blame but herself. I do have to say I know people who have attended these presentations and from what I have heard the salespeople are relentless and will often keep you there well beyond the amount of time you were promised in an attempt to wear you down and they do not care if you can or cannot afford it - all they care about is getting their commission. So if someone is interested in buying a timeshare I would say go on ebay or something like that and make sure it is a warranty deed that is free and clear of any liens or mortgages and you can get a great deal on a timeshare property with none of these headaches!!!

I'm not sure about other states but in Minnesota (where we live and bought) there is a 3 day renig period where if you change your mind you can cancel the contract. Here they let you sign the cancel in front of a notery and mail it to the timeshare company, as long as the notery signs within the 3 days. This helps the consumer balance the high pressure sales.

The parking there can be tough esp. if ya get in late at night. They need more parking. But as an above poster stated the place is great albeit far removed .........
