I just want to say how amazing some of the Avatar's are that are used on the Forums. Maybe if more people were to use them, we could have a contest for the best Avatar down the road?

How did you get your "Mondo sized" Avatar, Steve?
By the way, do you recognize where mine is from?

Excuse me for being ignorant, but exactly what is "avatar"?

The "avatar" is little picture next to our screen name in our posts. Steve's is a picture of the Las Vegas Strip at night with his name on it. Mine (for now) is a picture of a rotating sign (of A-K, Big Slick) at (I think) the Las Vegas Club downtown.

Im on webtv and had trouble downloading a screengrab from Vegas Vacation. I clicked on the camera icon but it said it was too big to download.

Once you found an avatar you like then what do you do with it?
ok here is what you do.
choose an avatar from a site. save it to a file. REMEMBER THE SIZE OF THE AVATAR CANNOT BE MORE THAN 80 X 80 PIXELS OR 19.5 KB. go to quick link at top. go to edit options. click on edit avatar. click on custom avatar. browse for your avatar. there you go you have your avatar. let me know how you did. good luck

I'm not Hunter, but, I just chose a picture I wanted, and resized it to fit. On the User CP page, where you add an avatar, you can browse your own computer, and insert your own picture.
Hope this helps!

I am trying to see if I now have an Avatar. These are my "hairy children" Bela and Mick. They make our life a lot more fun!!!

Another Avatar test
Oh,I would like to have mine shown, but I must admit it is not in good taste. Several years ago Don Rickle coined the phrase,"You Hockey Puck" which translate into,"A horse behind". I deserved it , since I drove in to Lost Wages with a $50,000 car and came home in a $250,000.00...(greyhound bus:)

The key to successful avatar bliss is to follow the instructions/specifications closely.
The image sizes and formats are not a suggestion, they are requirements.
If you have a digital camera, the software that came with it should allow you to re-size images to meet these specs. On the Mac, Apple's iPhoto does the trick and on Windows, Google's Picasa can get it done.
