I will be staying at the Luxor in December We stayed there Two other times a few years ago. This was well before the new towers were built. We went threw Exoedia.com. for our reservations. We hope to get a room inside the Luxor instead of the towers. Do the towers cost more or less? Or are they both the same price as far as run of the house room?

Dear Kend,
Not sure how Luxor works with Expedia but I can tell you that whenever you book through one of those sites it generally is for the hotel's lowest priced rooms. If it does say run of the house then that means best available at the time of arrival, at the discretion of the front desk so that, theoretically, every room (except suites) comes into play. I have stayed at the Luxor several times and have never paid more to be in the tower. That said, my friend, Barbara, just came back from there and had a room in one of the towers. She mentioned that the towers have just been through a reno but her room was not particularly impressive--lots of things were not up to par. Personally, I love staying there.
Cheers,
Lori R.

I stayed in the Pyramid rooms and it was fine. A little on the small side maybe but not bad.
Also the room looked out directly at the airport.
Kind of weird to walk out of the room and see the huge atrium of the pyramid. The time I went(2001) I was able to get an 8pm check out which helped taking the red-eye back east.

Kend:
I have never had a problem getting a pyramid room. As you know, the pyramid rooms are older than the tower. This would lead me to believe that you will have no problem getting a pyramid room.
I have stayed at the Luxor the past six trips. Now I have never stayed in the new tower rooms, but I hear the only real differences are that the walls are not slanted and there is a tub & shower in the room, not just a shower like the pyramid. I am sure that the elevators in the tower do not run at an angle either.
I do know that the rooms in the tower are a longer walk to the the casino and lobby/front doors.
If you have no desire for a room on a high floor or one with a fancy view, might I suggest a room on the 4th or 5th floor. They have their own bank of elevators that only go to the 1st through the 5th floor. They are the glass back elevators you will see right behind the registration desk.
I have stayed in room 4124 the last 3 times. It is only three doors from the elevator and right across from the ice machines. Always quiet and close to the action.
Any questions about the place that I can help you with, let me know...

Just remember if you stay in the pyramid the have only showers in the rooms except for the 11th floor.
