Here's the objective facts. Last July I called a host at MSS and explained I needed 4 nights beginning Oct. 12th, could she do anything for me? We are relatively low rollers but have had some comps and casino rates at the MSS in the past.
She immediately told me that they were really booked up on some of those days and she'd get back to me. True to her word she got back to me about 3 or 4 days later and said she had got me 4 nights, beginning Oct. 12th, at the casino rate. She took my credit card number and gave me a confirmation number. Yipee!
Last night (T-4) I got a call from a host at their sister property, the California. She said they were severely over booked at MSS the night of the Oct. 12th and she had to move me to the California for the night of the 12th only and then the other 3 nights would be at MSS. She said we would be comped the night at the California for the inconvenience.
On the theory that beggars can't be chosers, I said ok and now what was to be 4 nights at the MSS is 1 night at the Cal and 3 nights at MSS, with the night at the Cal comped and the nights at MSS at casino rates.
What's your opinion? Did I make the right decision? Should I have insisted that they honor the first commitment? Did I really have a choice?
BTW, I don't mind the Cal, it is just the hassle of moving after the first night that is a bit perturbing.
Your opinions please.
