Keno/Video Keno...Anyone win on Keno??

I know...Keno is the worst odds in a casino.

Has anyone ever won on keno? We look at the pamphlets in the casino coffee shops or cafes. What is the best keno to play, a 5-spot, 6-spot, 8 spot???

Seems like it would be easier to win in a casino than win a lottery. We'll watch the numbers for a while when we are at a buffet, (like the Rio buffet) and our numbers come up, and we're not playing. You can play 25 cents a game for 21 games.

We watch people play the video keno machines. Have no idea how to play
them.

Just curious if anyone has won on keno and what's your strategy?

I've never won anything much ($30) but we do take a chance when there's a group of us eating at the Rio buffet because a few years back a friend of ours just arrived in Vegas and while waiting for his room to be assigned he hit Keno for $10,000. So I'm sure it can be hit but it's not as easy at it looks. It seems your numbers always come out when your NOT playing. That's gambling for you. I say it's worth a shot and it doesn't cost you a fortune.

Love to play Video Keno..seem to have good luck, lately, on the machines. its Very easy to play..Keno machines can have several games on them, I would opt for the simple Keno game and skip all the others(top and bottom, 4-card, etc) and get the hang of simple keno. All that is necessary is to insert money and choose your number(most screens are touch screens, so just touch your numbers and it should mark it) and hit the start or draw button. I like to start out with 3 numbers and build up my credits that way, then I can increase my bets and play more numbers. I have recently hit 5 of 5 with 4 bet at least 7 times on my last trip to Vegas.( these were on the machines at Sam's Town) and that $800 a win!!..so Video Keno has been very good to me. I also play live keno by betting 50 $1 games with 4 numbers choosen and let them play over nite while I sleep. its kinda fun to go in the morning and see what you may have won while you slept. I also play other games besides keno, but seem to enjoy video keno the most and could probably tell you where most of the keno games are located in most of the strip casinos and some off-strip :) ..good luck and dont' be afraid to ask someone playing the machines what to do if you try the game, most keno players are pretty friendly.

Many years ago, I made a 5 of 8 bet and won $90 during dinner at the buffet at the Stardust. Occasionally, we make some bets while eating, but never have won anything else. It's just sort of a fun thing to do for us.

Thank you all for your KENO tips. Have played live KENO on a low level, while we eat. Yes it is fun to go to the KENO counter the next morning, or before you go to your room and check on your 21 games. And more fun if you won something.

Just wondered if there was a much better chance at winning on the amount
of numbers you play. We feel you probably have a better chance at a game when the casino still uses the old ping pong balls, rather than a computer generated KENO game.

Mr. Keno, you must have very lucky numbers. It is so nice to hear members have winnning trips. We'll be staying at The Orleans for two nights and the Monte Carlo for three nights. Have you played it at either place?

Maybe I'll try the video keno this trip. Who knows, maybe I'll have beginner's luck.

Try the Video Keno...I read once that playing 2, 3, or 4 numbers are the best odds on your chances to win. so I do that just to build up credits. I like to play the three/four corners, 1, 10, 80, 71..they seem to have a good hit ratio...and if you watch on video, numbers seem to cluster, I know its all random, but sometimes those clusters seem to come up constantly. Good luck at the Orleans..love to play there..they used to have the GameMaker machines, last time I was there. and those seem the best..the Mirage has GameKing and I don't like those as well, guess I seem to win less on those. Keno is statistically one of the worst expectation games in the casino. But the top prizes are pretty big...

I hit 7 out of 7 on a 3 quarter bet playing video keno. Won $ 7000.
I have one smaller jackpots $ 300- 1600.00 depending on the amount of numbers played. We also play live keno while eating, it is a fun way to pass the time.;)

Yes, I like to play the live Keno over luhch or dinner. That is where I won my monster $75 jackpot. The waitress said she'd never seen anyone actually win that much in the restaurant. This was in Jackpot, NV up by the Idaho border.

The odds are bad but when you play live keno for a buck a game you probably wager $10/12 an hour and get back $5. If you get decent drink service this is not a bad way to stretch your bankroll, kill a few hours, and still have fun gambling. And you never know when you might be the one to get lucky. Hit a 4 number special at the Trop a few years ago while waiting for a show and won $500.

video keno is the lowest percentage games in the casinos, but it is also one with the highest jackpots if it hits. huny and i enjoy video keno and typically play 4-card or 2-card on penny or nickel denominations. we have had great luck. i've hig 8/8 on a 10 cent bet five times for $1000 each, 7/7 on 10 cent bet for $700 more times than i can count. and just last week, huny hit four simultaneous 7/7's for $5600. he's also hit all 20 7/7 for $3600 on penny denom and all 20 7/7 on 20 card nickel denom for $7000 and 4 7/7 on 4 card penny denom for 420,000 pennies--just to name a few hits we've enjoyed. video keno can be fun and lucrative. but it can also drain your cash real fast. so, instead of playing multi-card games, until you learn or get the feel, try playing straight keno, caveman keno or lightning super keno. if certain symbols occur during the latter two, your jackpot can increase by 10 X if you hit a winner. but again caution: video keno is the lowest percentage game in town. means that if you don't win something, you can lose BIG TIME if you keep playing when you are losing.

The best video Keno experience I ever had was actually in Montana. We were driving through and one son had to use the bathroom (all you parents know the drill), so we stopped.

While there, I dumped $5 into a video Keno machine. I played a few games at 5 cents each and quickly got bored. I then pushed the "max bet" button, thinking it would bet like 5 nickels. It bet 45 nickels! But the planets lined up and I won $125. :) Then - the ticket didn't come out! I had to call the bartender over to help me find it. All turned out well, though.

So parents, don't begrudge your kids their bathroom breaks while on the road trips.....

As you can see, I am definitely "small time" when it comes to anything slot-like. Table games are my interest and expertise.

I do like to play the live Keno, though, while dining in Vegas. It's a fun and relatively inexpensive way to pass the time.

What I do is when I first get to the hotel or the next morning, I play 4 numbers for 25 or 50 games and bet $1.00 or $2.oo per game and do what I want throughout the day then when I return to the hotel I check my winnings, and in almost every case I win more than I have invested.... try it, It is a bunch of fun wondering throughout the day maybe I won...
